Well, Foster was a puppy when I took him as a "Foster" for a friend from North of me, though I suspected all along I'd end up keeping him.... Everynow and then I ask myself WHY I had to go and get another, esp. one with high coat maintance and so much bigger than the rest... Tonight I found his puppy pic and quickly remembered... The sad thing is it is the same reason people end up impulse buying from Pet Stores and BYB....

Foster Then:

Foster Now.. LMAO

Very cute hes a goldendoodle right there is one at the dog park and koda loves to wrestle with that dog for from when it enters till it leaves every time they come there side by side. They are great dogs and very friendly and outgoing. :) wish there was one in a shelter by me and i was in the situation for another dog cause i would scoop one up in a heart beat. ;)

Yeah we have rather decided he is a "Goldendoodle" though only his mother is known for sure, she was rescued hungry and abandoned(?), and it turned out pregnant.... The lady who did the rescue was actually quite suprised when the pups were born and they started to realise what they were as these "Doodles" are worth a fair price to sell, sigh..... We figure Mom somehow got lost or ran away and was found, no one ever came looking for her:( They put posters up and did all the adverstising and contacted the local shelters but no one ever called, truly sad!!

Like everyone said, you know how those fosters go. We were going to get a Scottie in the spring and fostered Uncle Fred in December........ over a year ago December.

Yep we all know how they go we started fostering Patches 4 years ago. And well the princess is still here.

I say goldendoodle/labradoodle

LOL I guess I forgot to say, Mom was a Golden Retriever, she looked purebred but as a stray no one knows much about her, Dad is a ? but as most everyone agrees he must have been a Poodle, the cross does seem to produce pretty similar looking pups, He is a sweetie though a lot more "needy" than I am used to with my JRTs!! His coat is a nightmare, though the adult coat seems to be a bit better than the puppy coat was!!

My husband has told me as much as he loves me no more strays or fosters for a while ( HE gets too attached as well...) All but one of the 4 cats I have right now are dumpees and we have 2 parrots ( I did purchase them prior to learning what I now know about Parrots and the need for them to be rescued ) as well as a hamster than a family member down home "Gave" us at Christmas because he did not want it anymore, and on and on... LOL

I am amazed how similar they do look alot of the times, there was a lady from NS who was trying to breed them properly, as in doing all the testing for both breeds and planing to have a "line" but she found when she bred her "Doodles to Doodles" they ended up looking more like one of the orginal breeds and not like a "Doodle" at all, I don't know a lot of the story and tried to google the kennel but I cannot remember the name... I read the story a couple of years ago in a ( magazine?) while back home on vacation, I do remember she was in the Truro area somewhere... I may do some looking to see if anything online talks about 2nd or 3rd gen. Doodles... There are so many people only doing the cross for the profit from the pups it would be interesting to see if anyone is truly trying to develop them as a "breed"??

For the reason you stated (Doodle to Doodle fails) they are not able to as of yet. They need to make a standard body and temperament as well as coat type and start breeding for it, then they will have my respect. As of now it's just people breeding to make more dogs for no other reason than to have more.
