Would you want another?

Just got to thinking about the 'what breed will your next dog be' thread. Anyways, of the breeds you've had which ones would you want to have again?

Labs- I doubt I'd ever go out looking for a lab. Just not my personality. Pete was a neat dog, but was more suited for my father than me.

Golden Retriever/German Shepherd- I doubt I'd get either breed again. Definitely not a golden and I'm really nervous about HD in shepherds these days. I wouldn't say no to a GSD x though....

Shelties- I'm a bit torn on this one. I can't see myself having another for quite a while, but maybe down the road I'd be interested in one again. I've absolutely loved all three that I've had, but there's been some issues we have to work out. The shyness, the grooming and the noise are all big concerns for me.

Papillons- the only breed I can definitely say I will go out looking for more in the future. I just can't get enough of them and their personality just goes so well with me. Can't find a more dynamic personality in a breed.

I mean I'd take any dog, but even though I've loved all my dogs I know I wouldn't go out looking for certain breeds again.

Havanese- no they are more for my mom then me.
Saint- No again more my mom then me
Anatolian Shepard- YES
Treeing Walker Coonhound- YES

Shar-Pei- No, Max was mix and was not socially like this breed in him. I don't really like aloof dogs. I also could never deal with the skin up keep.

Great Dane- No, once again this was just what was in Max, and although I really like their personality I think they are too big for me, I prefer 40-80 pound dogs.


Those are the only two I'm pretty sure were in Max.

Labs: Probably not. At least I won't go out looking for one, but if one finds me, we'll see.

I love my lab...and would have another (although not from puppyhood at this point). I know my husband would take another lab.
Beagle...yep! LOVE the hounds.....
spaniel --not so sure on this one, but she was a mix, and a rescue dog with "issues"--LOL! So I'm not sure Libby was the finest example of a spaniel, and I dont' really have experience otherwise with them.
English Setter (had one growing up)--yep, she was a great dog--and the setter's I have known have been great family dogs.

Sheltie - if one found me, sure, but I don't think I'd go looking for one, I would want it to be to much like Tootise, and it would only hurt me and the dog.

Great Dane - Once again, because Sasha was one of my first dogs, probablu not, I love the breed, but I'd want the new one to be just like Sasha.

Mini Aussie/ or aussie. - Maybe... Depending on the situation... But not anytime soon.

Dober Man (we had one when I was youger) - Nope. I liked the one we had okay, but it's more a breed for my sister than me.

Lab-definetly would. Love the breed, very intelligent.

Border Collie-definetly would. Again, love the breed and they are so intelligent.

I have only had Sadie that is mine. But at some point I wouldn't mind a Sheltie, they are so cute and I really love their look.

lab- abousoulty YES YES YES i love the breed they are smart, protective and very lovable, no matter how old they get, they think they are PUPS

Border collies- again YES YES YES, they are cute cuddly at any stage

dauchounds ( Hot dog dogs LOL)- most definitly YES, i had one since i was 2 months old and we had to put her down when i was 16 human years old ( that would be ? in dog years) and i was soooo sad . but, i know she is in a much better place

as for any breed i have had soo many i would love to have them all again!! :

What breed would I have again? I've only had one purebred & yes I'd take a whole house full of 'em. I love Papillons.

My heart girl was a GSD & something else. Besides her shedding like a banshee I would take another GSD in a second but I think I'm more suited for Paps & their disposition.

Growing up I had a flatcoat retriever. He was a great dog. I don't think I would ever go looking, but if one turned up..

I had a dalmation when I was 19. I would have one of those again (but only if I had a cleaning lady, those barbed hairs are NASTY to clean up, and nothing sheds like a dal)

JRT, I doubt I will ever be with out one.

Whippets, these guys are only 31/2 months, but I think I am hooked.

Shelties/collies. More then likley. but this time i would find a very reputable breeder. Only thing I cant stand about them is the barking, but no breed is perfect, I LOVE the hair, dontmind the long hair at all.

Toy poodles, honestly I think poodles are so misunderstood. I adore them we havnt had one around the house in about 4 years and I miss them. One day i will have another. I'm not sure which size, probabaly the toy again.

We had a chihuahua/toy poodle mix (Geeze these days he would be called a chi-poo and be worth 1000+ bucks lmao. but he was just our childhood free mutt) for 14 years, he wasnt a breed at all, but you couldnt really see chihuahua in him. I wouldnt want a chihauhau though, just not a breed for me.

We had a collie when I was a kid, and I loved him and they're still a favourite breed of mine, but I don't know that I'd have one again.

Shelties - yes. I will always have shelties. Always. I honestly cannot imagine my household without a sheltie in it.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi - Probably not. As much as I love the breed and think they're amazing little dogs I think that there are many breeds out there that are more suited for me than a corgi. However if the right one comes along through a rescue, who knows!

Border Collie - YES. I'll always have one.

Labrador Retriever/mix - Probably will have one at some point, if the right one shows up in a shelter. Wouldn't seek one out from a breeder.

Chow Chow - Rescue, maybe. Not from a show breeder.

Wolf mix - Never, ever from a breeder, and it's highly unlikely that I'd ever seek one out at a rescue. Just no.

Papillon - Yes, when I'm older and need a smaller companion.

Schnauzer - No. Cute, but not my type.

If I could, I'd have a house full of Toller/BCs, but that's not only impossible but completely unethical. I will always have a Toller in my life though - I couldn't live without one.

Rottweilers, no. Eventhough we had 3 before her, Morgan has almost ruined the breed for me (I say almost as I do still like some that I know/have met) and I just can't see myself happily living with one again.

Dobermans, without a doubt yes. Dobes are truly incredible dogs and I hope to have a few more in my life.

Dachshunds, maybe. If I ever want a little dog again I wouldn't disclude them, but I don't think I'll ever actively seek out another small dog/Dachshund.

Dalmatians, yes. I'd absolutely love to have another Dal someday. We didn't have ours for very long unfortunately, but she was an amazing dog and almost all (well bred) Dals I've met since her have been almost the same.

Much as I have loved my GSDs, I haven't seen any modern purebred GSDs that make me want another. Bimmer is more like the GSDs used to be than what's being bred now. Would I take another Bimmer? In a heartbeat! Or another Bear, who was a GSDXAkita and a phenomenal dog.

Terrier - I can see living with another Terrier at some point, although I'd probably go with a larger breed, like an Airedale or a Bull Terrier, rather than the small Rat Terrier I had growing up, as the larger variety would fit in better with Filas.

Lab: Probably not. I just don't like the hyperactivity of most labs I've known. Amber was a great dog, but I was also a very young child at the time so I got all the fun RUNNING and PLAYING, and none of the hard stuff.

Maltese/Poodle mix: (Yes, I had a malti-poo. Yes we paid an obsene amount of money for him at a pet store. I was 7 and wanted a cute fluffy dog. Lets move on.) Snowpuff (I said let's move on! lol) was a great dog. Really sweet, well behaved, loving, and generally a great companion. He was my best childhood friend. But neither of those breeds have any appeal to me at all anymore. Perhaps a standard poodle, but not a mini or toy. And Maltese are just TOO "lap dog" for me.

German Shepherd: Snap was VERY MUCH a protector of our family and took that job VERY seriously. Almost too seriously. I think I'm more of a "watch dog" person than a "guard dog" person. He was a lovely dog with us, but I hated having to worry about how he'd react to other people. I couldn't have friends come over to play without putting Snap away. I know most aren't like that, and it was how he was socialized/trained, but I think any potential GSD's in my future would depend very much on the individual dog and it's personality.

Sierra: Well, I'm pretty sure we're still in the "honeymoon" phase, and her bad habits are lingering under the surface to surprise me at any moment, but I'd take another of whatever she is in a HEARTBEAT!

Bichon/poodle mix - No. Just... no.
