    That whole plate looks delicious! We just buy it fresh at a place about half an hour north of here and fry it up ourselves. Washington State usually has a fairly good smelt fishery. Some years are better than others.

    It wouldn't bother me that its a type of pet, but I personally wouldn't eat it as I'm not a big fan of meat, and I don't like trying new things anyway.
