If you've got one and have any videos of him/her, I would love to see them. I'm looking into getting into training as a late-in-life career change, and would love to specialize in Dobes. I have a great way of communicating with them and love their attentiveness and agility. Not that I don't like other dogs, but large breed and short hair are my favorites.
I have some poor quality vids at Youtube/com/Todax69, but they get the gist across. I've been teaching Bane to be my helper dog at home and I am amazed at how quickly he picks things up.
Would love to also hear of any good jobs you've taught your guys.

I watched your vid the other day, looks like Bane is doing a VERY good job so far! And of course, you are doing a good job teaching him, can't give Bane ALL the credit now can we? LOL

Orson (you can see him in my avatar and signature) is my little lovey dumpling, LOL. Can't say he's too helpful around the house though, sorry, no vids of him being amazing, LOL

He has been taught to wipe his feet well when coming in the back door if that counts for anything! hahaha, He walks back and forth over the rug, and then "digs" to wipe his front paws real good. :D

I am glad you found us here at chaz, I truly look forward to seeing photos, vids, and hearing stories about Bane........he looks like a pretty cool guy! :)

He looks pretty cool, and wiping his feet?

That has my ex beat. She had no problem dragging in mud from the yard. It's the little things like that that do add up to an amazing breed.
BTW - being new here I see that my post was moved. Did I put it in the wrong place? I sort of figured the hydrant was like saying the water cooler.

The fire hydrant is for discussing anything non-pet related. This is for discussing anything dog related, that doesn't really need to go into the other categories.

I've heard that there's a service dog organization that uses dobes exclusively, but it seems that they don't have a website so I'm not sure now if it does exist. Obviously they are used a lot as mobility dogs and guide dogs in other organizations. :)

Thanx,

When I looked I finally saw the "non-pet" description. Newbies... don't you hate our manners.
