I think it depends on how sensitive your dogs stomach is and how willing you are to deal with soft stool for a few days.

When Bella couldnt handle the Innova, we just switched both dogs cold turkey from Innova to Canidae... it worked fine.

Good Luck

soft stool is fine. as long as its not in the house!
i dont know how sensitive his stomach is. one time he ate some spagetti from my plate (stole it) and threw it up not even a minute after eating it. i dont know if that means anything.

i am planning on getting the food tomorrow, so i have to decided quick. i am thinking of going for it.

Natural Balance makes some pretty good foods. You might want to keep your dog on taht for awhile and see how it does.

Go with the Natural Balance from Petco and skip the Nutro/Natural Choice products all together.

Natural Balance makes a formula for all life stages...

Definitely go with Natural Balance...it is a whole lot better than Nutro. I don't see anything wrong with switching a dog "cold turkey". That's what I do, and in fact, even my dog with a very sensitive stomach does better this way than if we do it gradually. Not sure why though.

I feed puppy food till the dog is a year old. I never had a problem going cold turkey. They all have meat and similar ingredients. I suppose some dogs might get a little upset but I wouldn't worry too much. I agree with the others that Nutro, while not the worst food....not by a long shot, isn't the best. There are others out there which are better.

guys i had to get nutro natural choice. petco is the only place in town that has natural balance and they only had a 49.00 dollar bag. that is WAY to exspensive right now. i am all for feeding the best food i can, but i just didnt have the money.
maybe next time :(
