Ever since last night (read my post in the fire hydrant) he has been a bit wary of guys. This morning Jamie came downstairs and Zeus jumped about 15 feet when he pet him :( . He then slunk off and nuzzled my legs away from the kitchen chair so he could be right next to me. He hasen growled since last night and that was seriousely the FIRST time I EVER heard him growl i have never seen him growl or show his teeth in play either. I was panicky last night though and just wasent good for him to be around. Im worried about this. Any advice would be great he's mellowed out with Jamie now but im not worried about strange men coming into the house and Zeus reacting aggressively......Advice please :(

You might have to let Zues be Zues and us guys will have to follow his lead. Who knows he might find the best man for you.

Now when did you get so smart, Blue :D

Seriously, Pits, I wouldn't worry about Zeus. Just be yourself with him and he'll calm down. I wouldn't think it would be a swooft idea for the other guy to come around him though! Zeus isn't going to forget that for awhile. He's a good dog - an exemplary dog!

I bet Zeus was just picking up on your stressed out vibes. Once you calm down and are at peace with yourself agian he'll go back to who he was. My pit mix Mack does that too, if I get stressed then he's stressed, if I'm sad he's sad too, if I'm happy than he's happy.

Here Spud: Don't bring any new men into the house for a while.

How's that? Of course, I'm not the world's greatest speller either. I suck too.

I'm glad Zeus is more chilled out today. Maybe an introduction to a very nice man or one he already knows a little bit away from the house on some neutral territory would help, especially if the man is very quiet and gentle and has some scrumtous treats to give Zeus, but ONLY when Zeus is calm and not acting scared and shrinking away. Be careful that you don't let on that you're worried about anything. Use that "no big deal" attitude.

A little gradual socializing would help. Just don't overwhelm him...take it slowly and easily.

Best wishes.
