Ugh I HATE git-r-done, I was referring more to like slang phrases like "ain't", ya'll, & the general accent ... I don't have an accent in fact ppl always think I'm from California lol :)
Born and bred yankee here. I use "y'all" all the time. The one that drives me crazy around here is "yous". Example: "Yous guys ready to order sumthin?".

Eddie can u tell me any more Yankee phrases?
There isn't anything that I can really point to. Most of the regional stuff here is pronunciation.

The little stream rolling through the woods is pronounced "crick", you have a "far head" (not a forehead), you eat a samwich (no sand, I guess), you drink wooder (hopefully there are no splinters in the water), etc.

Eh. I'm from the South and I hate people that talk like we go to school in a one-room school-house. You know, the one by the cotton field? Living in the south isn't an excuse to talk like you're uneducated. It gives the rest of the people a bad rep. I don't know of many Northern phrases that make the people using them sound like a 4th grade drop-out.

My area should not be famous for a phrase like "Git r dun".
The real joke is that the guy who really made that phrase famous (or infamous) and made people associate it with the south is from . . .

Nebraska.
