Oh my good gracious. This is the cutest thing in the world. It's so touching to see how a few people caring actually made a real, REAL difference in this wonderful dog's life. And it's just the icing on the cake that Baxter seems to be in love with him.
So, so, so happy for you guys!

Wow, look at those happy smiles. I sure hope this works out. Baxter can't believe you brought him such a great present.

Awe, I just knew they would fall in love at first site! Does Trav seem enthused about him?

I can not believe this dog got passed over! He really is a sweet dog, playful, just a good temperment all around. My husband has even cuddled up with him already....that's a good sign.

He and Baxter are best buds already--altough Baxter is sure to let Wilson know to be nice to Trav. Trav is fine with it--she actually wanted to play last night, but she doesn't have the stamina that the boys do!
He slept in the bed with us last night and did fine. NO marking--he did try to mark in the house this morning but stopped when I called him. That's a good sign too.
He does want to hump Baxter--so that will have to stop! lol!

your going to have to change your siggy:D

I have always found the good behavior or quietness in the beginning..
once that wears off a few behaviors..like the marking and humping, but that is just a stage and perfectly correctable and then back to the good behavior. Congrats.

thanks smkie--as I am sitting here, the boys are cuddled up together on the couch--Wilson belly up and front paws in the air, and Baxter with his head on Wilson's chest--rofl! If I could get a picture, I would...but if I move, so will they. Too funny--I am so in love!

Ha, it's funny he tried to hump Baxter. He must not have done it to my dogs because they are so much smaller than him. See, I thought he would have been fine to sleep in our bed the last couple of nights but we didn't want to risk it. I'm glad he's not marking

He is a sweet boy--no doubt about that. And he is so happy to play with Baxter--and Baxter really likes Wilson too. :)

I am sure I have missed it since there are sooo many pages of this thread but what kind of dog is he. He looks a little like my Sophie whom we got out of a shelter. We know she is Basset Hound but mixed with something. For the longest time we have been trying to find out what her mix is. Sophies feet are a little stubbier though and her skull and chest are bigger. Her ears are a little bigger too. She is tri color. So many want to say Beagle but I am not so sure about that. I would say she is mixed with a different larger hound.
