I wonder how he got away with being adopted without being neutered. Isn't that like a requirement at a dog shelter before you adopt a dog? I was required to have Maggie spayed.

I wonder if there are any Wilson puppies out there in the world. If so, I want one ;-)
Some places, at least around here require a deposit when you adopt that you get back after you can prove the dog has been neutered. The really funky part is, the darn deposit is NOWHERE near the cost of the surgery...........we are talking like a 35.00 deposit! So an irresponsible person would just write off the deposit, not neuter the dog and then the circle could repeat itself *sigh*

That's how it was when I adopted my kitten. The deposit was $35, I believe. Luckily, he was neutered at the Humane Society, so it was only $25

I take back the quiet dog comment. He's quiet until you put him to bed at night--then he sounds like a hound :D

He's good. He only barked a bit last night until he fell asleep and once during the night, so Alex took him outside. He came with me to drop Alex off at class this morning. Then I wait for him to get out of class since it's only 2 hours and a half hour drive each way. We went for a walk around for a while and then he sat in my lap in the car for a while. Sooo cute. He sits in my lap and puts his head on my shoulder. The rest of the time he just slept on the other seat or on the floor.

He's playing with the Pug right now. As long as he's distracted, he's not marking and he does not pee in the car at all.

He can't get groomed because we don't have any vaccination records. Alex's mom is sending some of her shampoo and conditioner home, though, so we will bathe him tonight. His nails don't look bad. I'll clean his ears, but they're not too bad either. I brushed him out with the furminator while we were outside a little while ago.

He is really a very well behaved dog. His only issue seems to be the marking, which will hopefully be correctable, especially after he's neutered.

He just discovered the ferrets. They're in their cage, so they're safe. He's just watching them with interest, but doesn't have that "I want to eat them" look. He also just looked like he wanted to mark the wall and I called him and he came over to me instead of doing it :D

I just took these pics with my cellphone while we were waiting for Alex to get out of class.

We don't mind bathing him here either. Alex does it at work, so it's no big deal.

The paper doesn't have any vaccination info at all

Wow amazing no neuter and no rabies info. no wonder they are overwelmed with dogs.
If it was the weekend Petco has that run in and get a shot thing...Every other sat cost 15.00.

Yeah, and on Fridays at Petsmart in Amherst they don't charge for the visit at all---just whatever you have done.

I also find it very odd that they didn't neuter or require a neuter deposit or give any info about a rabies vaccine. That's very weird. Isn't it routine to just give every animal that walks in the door vaccinations? That's what we did when I worked at a shelter
