Reecie was bred just for fun. The owners had two intact chocolate labs and bred them just because they felt like it. That was before my parents knew better.

Maggie, no idea. Probably accidental breeding like 96% of the mutts here are.

Ronin - bred for show (but with considerations to keep a working temperament)
Kaylee - bred for show (but several close relatives have advanced performance titles)
Ada - bred for stockdog work
Revy - bred for show and agility

Show/Pet

Romeos family has a few agility, therapy dog, obedience titles here and there..
but mostly its just pets/show.

Romeo in fact was held back to be shown.. but that didn't work out lol obviously. Which is why I got him when he was 2 :)

I can't say for sure, but Morgan is mostly likely from an oops/laziness litter. I do know his mother was dropped off with the shelter as an owner surrender at the same time, though I didn't get to meet her.

in our home now we have a few..... LOL

Up with us:

Teddy--- (FIL's Chow? Mix) he was a shelter rescue, likely an unwanted accident.....

Mindy--- She was bred by a BYB who had no idea what she had, her stud dog was very well bred and considering I had no idea at the time I was very lucky to get her! She was registered as an adult with the JRTCA/CC She went on to be an awesome performance dog, has worked in the field and is an amazing companion

Diamond--- Di was from the first litter I bred as a breeder, she was intended to be the start of my kennel.... She won her conformation class at the JRTCC nationals against some top breeders! I was thrilled.... In the end, I am so relived that I did not have 3 litters from her, she had CERF'd clear every year but at 6 was hit with sudden onset cataracts and went totally blind... FAST!!

Molly-- BYB who planned to bred her.... :yikes: she weights 2.5 lbs!!!! Then came in to my work one day and mentioned she had not been able to sell her and was moving the next week, she was going to put her in a shelter! I took her that day, at work.... And she has been with us ever since....

Other half of the house:

Foster-- Well, he was a Foster we took in, his heritage is unknown, his Mom was found pregnant running the streets in an area known to have Mennonite puppy mills, his Mom was a poorly bred Golden and when Fosters little was born, it was not too hard to figure our they were likely Puppy mill GoldenDoodles and somehow the Dam had escaped.... We even named him Foster... Because we were NOT keeping him... :rofl1: I don't even bother trying to foster anymore.... LOL ( You had to see him as a pup, major major cute....)

Monty-- My daughter and her husbands dog, BYB Dachshund......

Whew that was long.... LOL

Money and race dog hopefuls were the reasons my dogs were bred :( Todd's Dad fathered 2583 puppies. Maddy's father sired 2878 puppies.

Sheer madness and greed. No wonder there's so many greyhounds being killed every year.

Allie: Who knows? The mother was surrendered to the shelter...the entire litter was Labs though, so I can only assume that someone was trying for hunting dogs/pets to sell.

Noodle: The guy we bought her from was owed a favor by another dude, and they settled it by breeding. Go figure.

Ruby: Who knows? I'm sure it was for money...Sibe puppies are very cute.

Rocket: Show/pet, but my intentions for him are show/performance. :)

Kim -- Probably an "oops" as I don't know why anyone would dump a litter of <8 week old pups in a rural ditch if they were wanted at all...

Webster -- Probably an "ooo let's breed our dog!" for whatever reason. I don't know much about his history other than that he lived in an apt for a year until the couple that owned him split up and they dumped him off on a friend since they didn't want to deal with him and he was "unadoptable" by the standards of the local shelters.

Mira -- Planned breeding by three breeders with combined experience totaling the better part of a century. Bred to have a solid temperament, excellent bird instincts, drive out the wazoo, and be an all-around "can take over the world, work all day, then chill with the family" kind of dog who also exemplifies breed type and is competitive in the breed ring.

Pax : who knows what the breeders wanted for him. His poor resive gene made him an instat pet dog.

Jack: a farm dog oops. Guess they didnt figure out that three intact farm dog could have bad things happen. The 5 pups where left running the farm for 2 months and dropped off at the local shelter. ( later to be discovered all had been exposed to parvo only two pups survived)

Puck. Well i think he was a byb wanting cool APBT pups, havent been able to get much detail on him.

No idea, I got Sienna from a shelter at 1 year old. I would guess for cute puppies, and a very successful breeding if that were the case. :D

Is that her in your avatar? If so, OMG she is adorable. Mission accomplished if that's what they were aiming for, LOL.

Riley was a companion. His litter was bred for more breeding females, and his family line continues. A few of his nieces, and great nieces are champions.

Because the world should not be deprived of his level of awesome.

I really have no idea, could have been for farm dogs, BYB, no idea. He was found as a stray down in an area of Kansas with a heavy concentration of cattle ranches, so he could have very well been from working stock. Why he was dumped, or why he wandered away and no one tried to claim him, I couldn't begin to speculate.

Lilly was a puppy mill bitch. Poor thing had enough and escaped the situation with babies on board. She collapsed on the side of the road with billery and her pups were never found. :(

Travis was bred for show and to outcross Australian blood into the very British Pap lines here in South Africa.

Riley, pure show and she is turning out to be killer. My hopes for her as a performance dog are growing daily!

Grant was bred for dogsports/show. His breeder mostly focused on obedience and agility, while doing some weightpulling. The older dogs did therapy work once they settled down enough to no longer be bulls in a china shop. She was very well known for not breeding her dogs until they had multiple performance titles, had finished, and were health tested for everything possible. She was greatly respected in the AmStaf and APBT worlds, and is very greatly missed.

Harry was bred for working/high level French Ring. His sire was the 1996 NARA FRIII Champion, and his mother the 2003 NARA FRI Vice Champion. She was FRII (never attained FRIII due to broken jaw) plus PSA, herding, flyball, and obedience titles. She also had her first major before she was spayed. One of Harry's littermates was the youngest dog to dual certify in the US. He was killed when somebody broke into his handler's house and shot him. Another littermate has been bounced around a bit, but has his FRI, SchH BH, a rally title, and I think some other stuff. I had gotten Harry for FR and PP, then got married, had a baby, and moved to the middle of nowhere. Now Harry is just the world's most obnoxious family dog.
