Why did my dog lick the fence?

when I was walking my dog yesterday, my maid stopped to buy sth, and I stopped to wait for her.

There was a ferreous fence with green paint. And when I got to notice my dog, I found that he's licking the fence! with a watering mouth!

What's wrong with him?

I don't think anything is wrong with your dog. my dog licks anything he can reach, and I HATE when he licks me, but I guess I have to deal with it.

I wonder this too, though.

Fuzzy likes to lick my metal file cabinet, the metal bar on
my desk chair, and my stainless steel T-squares and rulers when
they're within his reach.

Metal.

He'll spend a long time doing this. At first I thought it was maybe
an iron deficiency or whatever, but it's not really that kind of metal.

What's up with that?

Mojo licks things a lot - he really likes cloth. He will lick our clothes, even when they are freshly washed. He also will lick the carpet in my apartment. He seems to like the different textures of different things. I just figure it's him being rather like a human toddler (although my dog is 4 years old) ... he's exploring the world with his mouth... over and over and over again.

Aweeee...that's cute..... LOL....Yeah Stoli eats the door frames and the walls. Isn't she adorable?? hahahaha Gotta lover her though...for all I know she thought she was redecorating.

Now I remember another weird behavior of Tintin.

Every time when I clip his nails, he will look at his paw and slobber, and then eat up the nails on the floor!

Gus and Perle are both furniture lickers!! Ewwwwww!! They love to lick the sofas, don't ask me why!! Oh and Gus likes to nibble (using his front teeth only) on my quilt!! Plus there's the usual nasties like eating horse poop, horse hoof (after the farrier has been), and sometimes earth worms that they have dug up in the garden! EEEEEEWWWWWWWW!!!!
