Sporting - Viszla, I guess. Couldn't really own any of them.
Hound - Whippet
Working - Greater Swiss
Terrier - Staff. Bull
Toy - Italian Greyhound
Non-sporting - None, really. For the sake of picking something, Schipperke
Herding - Aus. Shepherd
Mis. - Swedish Vallhund

CKC, just because I've never looked at their list before:
Sporting - Viszla
Hound - Lundehund! I can't believe they are recognized! I may have to move to Canada.
Working - Karelian Bear
Terrier - Staff. Bull
Toy - Italian Greyhound
NonSporting - Miniature Xolo
Herding - aus. shepherd

How come the Canadians get more fun breeds? In all honesty, I'll probably never own a sporting, working, or non-sporting dog. Some are gorgeous, but few would really work in my lifestyle.

But a Lundehund! Someday....

Beauces are in the misc. group because the AKC has only VERY recently started to accept them into the Club, much to the ire and chagrin of most Beauce breeders. They didn't want the Beauce in the AKC at all, but someone pushed it through.

Sporting - Any of the Setters, and the Golden Retriever as well
Hound - Whippet. I <3 them.
Terrier - White Bull Terrier. Though I do have a soft spot for JRTs.
Toy - Papillon
Non-Sporting - Chow Chow. Or Standard Poodle.
Herding - Do I even need to say Border Collie? :p I am quite fond of nearly the entire herding group.
Working - Doberman. The Fila doesn't fall into any of AKC's categories (thankfully) but if they were, they'd be in the working group too. Gotta include them. Oh, and I love Boxers.

Ok...AKC...I had a very hard time with some groups choosing between two breeds.

Sporting - Clumber Spaniel
Hound - Borzoi
Working - Neapolitan Mastiff (of course :D )
Terrier - Bull Terrier
Toy - Chihuahua (or Affenpinscher)
Non-Sporting - French Bulldog (or Shiba Inu)
Herding - Bouvier des Flandres (or Old English Sheepdog)
Misc. - Dogue de Bordeaux (or Tibetan Mastiff)

Our club, the ANKC (Australian National Kennel Council), has a few different groups. Here are my choices from them.

Toy - Chihuahua (or Affenpinscher)
Terrier - Bull Terrier
Gundogs - Clumber Spaniel
Hounds - Borzoi (or Sloughi)
Working Dogs - Bouvier des Flandres (or Old English Sheepdog or Maremma)
Utility - Neapolitan Mastiff ( :D )
Non-Sporting - Eurasier
