As it turns out, Leonbergers are my dream breed (on the fence about whether i can handle all that hair .... it's pretty extreme).

I am actually looking into Standard Poodles, but have a concern about their energy levels. Not totally convinced I can provide a SP what it needs for exercise.

Totally not into drooling, so no Dogue de Bordeaux for me. Don't know anything about a Spinone Italiano. Will have to check that out.

The Spinone Italiano is sounding better the more I read. Some sites mention drooling ... will have to look into this.

That being said, I would humbly suggest that you
might want to reconsider your interest in a Bullmastiff?

And yes ... some lines of Spinone's do drool. However,
they're not nearly in the same league as the two mastiffs! :rofl1:

Yes, Spinoni seem to drool, and are apparently very vocal. Probably not for me.

    Back to the drawing board.

Update - I just went and met with two adult Bouviers, owned by people who have owned the breed for 40 years (!). Wonderful, wonderful dogs. I think I may have made my decision.
