sorry love4pits, somehow I missed it on your list. another good one is a far off place. two kids get lost n the african sahara with their rhodesian ridgeback. kavik the wolfdog is also a good movie.
if your reading white fang also read call of the wild, to make a fire, and kavik the wolf dog, and a book by sterling north (wrote rascal, about a pet raccon) called the wolfling.
Yeah, I think I've got Call of the Wild, too.

I think the other books I listed are around $5 each, maybe cheaper. and probably in the childrens or teenager section.
yeah, the movie is NEVER as good as the book. in some ways the lor of the rings trilogy was as good, and in a few small ways it was better, but all in all the book was far better.

with call of the wild it depends, there have been atleast a dozen versions of that movie. which one did you like? I thought the best was the one with rick schroeder, and a german shepherd played Buck. even though buck was supposed to be half english shepherd, and I think half st bernard? heres an english shepherd...

looks a lot like a border collie huh? heres a site about the breed (even though this is off topic)...http://www.englishshepherd.org/photoagility.htm

It was the Newest from Hallmark the dog was actually a Shepherd/St Bernard mix and everything it was very true to the book Curly though looked like a border collie mix in that movie. I forget the guy who played John Thortan but he's an awsome actor I forget his name but I know the face.

I've watched My dog skip, where the red fern grows, and beethoven

My dog skip: meh, I am not going to watch it again

Where the red Fern grows: The book is much better than the movie

Beethoven: too kiddy for me and I was in 3rd grade when I watched it
