When did you first realize you wanted a dog?

Myself, I first realized after I seen a friend's dog about 3 or 4 months ago. I instantly wanted one from then and started to read about dogs all the time.

I've always had cats, and still love the cat I have now, but cats just don't seem that interested in people like dogs do. I want a dog that I can take for walks and play with all the time, I've never gotten that from a cat.

My family (mostly dad's side) have ALWAYS loved dogs. When I was born, my house already had 3 dogs. It just came naturally to me

I dunno. I've always loved dogs for some reason. My family owned, not me I was very small and knew nothing, an American Eskimo Dog and a Shepherd mix (Both gotten from "free to good home" newspaper ads).

I loved 'im- even though both of them bit me severely. You think that stopped me from wanting a dog? Nooope-- me n' my stubborn self, STILL wanted a dog.

Well, cause of complications I wasn't able to get one until just recently. Before that I always would look at pictures, research, etc- But now I've got Rocky, my German shepherd, and I don't regret it.

What can I say, dogs are awesome!

Our family has ALWAYS had dogs. I started walking by holding onto our Shepherd mix to stablize myself...slept with dogs since I was a toddler. I just couldn't imagine life without a dog...it would seem so incomplete. Even when I was a child during elementary etc we always had all the neighbors dogs with us along with our dogs...we didn't have any purebred dogs or fighting type breeds around when I was a child...so, I don't know if that had to do with having more stable tempered dogs around us that didn't fight. Even though most people back then only spayed their females and left males intact.

We had a dog when I was born, but he died of old age when I was a kid and that was when I begged and begged to have a dog. Thanks to good friends of my parents, they gave me a puppy as a gift. Dont think mom and dad okay'd it, they tried to tell the people no but I didnt care. It was mine and she wasnt going anywhere. I won.

I've always wanted a dog since as far as i can remember! I've always had dogs at my mom's or dad's house. I've had 4 dogs in the past and 3 where herding dogs and it dodn't work out. But soon, in November, I'll be getting the dog of my dreams! A Golden Retriever!!
I've wanted a dog for the following reasons:
-for agility
-long walks and lots of fun
-to take to soccer games or any other games
- go on vacations ith me
-to have a "shadow"..LOL
- so i can take of someone and know that they love me for doing so(besides family)
- for someone (besides my family) to look after me and to take care of me
-so I can go to PetsMart all the time!!!
- to have someone to talk to when no one else is there
- and for lots of doggy kisses!

We had dogs growing up on the farm and I really cannot ever remember not having a dog. They are so much a part of my life I would re home my husband before I re homed a dog. roflmao

I love dogs.I used to ride our malamute when I was 4.I will always have dogs.I have a hubby that needs rehoming lol.Any takers jk.
