"a new collar mania collar AND some cowhides for mah springpole?? HEAVEN!"

I ordered these hides from a member of another board. These hides are NICE! She doesn't quite know what to make of the fact that they still have fur on them. Oh, and they're salted to help dry them out, so I had to shake some salt off of them. But they're considerably thicker than I thought they'd be. We also put a different kind of spring on her pole. We used a gate spring and it's QUITE substantial and stiffer than the garage spring we were using.

And here's the set-up. I'll have to switch to my wide angle lens to fit the whole thing in.

    Thanks, guys!

She is weird with these cowhides. It's like, she gets it all slobbery, then she just lets herself slide off of it. hahahahaha.
    She just needs to adjust.:lol-sign:

  8. I'm confused about something. Is her pole attached to the tree in the picture, or is it something you guys hold? I think Doom would enjoy something like that.

No, it's attached to the tree, very high up.:D

  10. That is SO cool. We don't have a tree in our yard, but the nieghbors do and they LOVE Doom and Bobsie, so I'm sure they'd let us borrow their tree (its right next to our property line any way).
Where do you find these magical things? Are they on your website? I may have to order one next pay check!!!

May I suggest that people with young pups don't do this ??? As much as they would love it , I don't like youngsters doing any high leaps until fully boned . In your case it's fine !

I would NEVER suggest young pups to do this. In fact, I wouldn't suggest doing this with your dog until they are AT LEAST over a year old, if not 2 years old.
Any kind of heavy activity/work outs like this can be VERY hard on the bones of pups still growing.

Sorry...should I perhaps have put a disclaimer on my post?

Oh, and just so everyone knows, she can reach that hide by standing on her hind legs. The only reason there would be ANY shots of her in mid air is because I was swinging it and she was chasing and jumping at it.
I DO NOT let my dog hang with both feet off the ground. She must ALWAYS be able to touch her hind legs to the ground. It's an injury risk to the dog if they cannot keep grounded somehow during springpole activity.

  14. Doom will be 2 in September. :)

oh! No, no, no, we don't sell these.:D

We made this via instructions by other dog owners. We already had the rope, and clamps, I just bought the spring, rope thimbles, and cowhides.
My husband did most of the work.:)

It's funny the things dogs consider fun. Personally, I would find this activity incredibly frustrating and annoying. Your dog seems to loooooove it!

yeah, there's several ways you can make them, but the most important thing is to make sure that you make it safe for your dog.
Oh, and don't underestimate the strength of your dog's tugging abilities either. :D

Thanks for posting that, Drmom777 :D

She is. She's still kind of "iffy" about the hides. But we're going to work on it.:)
