The breed you would love to own, that may surprise people? Something not your traditional want maybe, or something you haven't mentioned before? etc.

I am a hound person, and my favourite breeds are all sighthounds. But my secret breed would be Springer Spaniels. Nothing like sighthounds, but I absolutely love them, and would definitely like to own at least one. :D

I've always wanted an Ibizan Hound.

Not really the typical working dog breed I like, but hey, they're awesome!

Dobermans

I am very often pegged as a toy breed or retriever person lol which I can see why.

but these dogs are really on my "One day.." list. Unfortunately my life just isn't very well suited (renting apartments and all..breed restrictions) for one of these dogs.

In fact, before I was matched with goldens as a service dog, dobermans were my #1 choice. they only were eliminated because of my apartment buildings new management and rules :/

but yea, people often think that I'm more suited for "softer" dogs or something lol so I guess its kind of a secret!

I will never ever own one, but: we had an afghan hound at work yesterday, first time I've ever seen one. And holy cow are they way better looking in person than in pictures. It would make me feel so elegant to have one lol but I couldn't handle the hair. I find them so intriguing now though.

I pine for a Dutch Shepherd. I knew a Dutchie once. She was awesome. Likely I won't own this breed though, it probably wouldn't really fit my lifestyle.

A lurcher. I generally love hounds...from a distance. I don't think I could cope with never being able to let a hound off it's lead but these are definitely on the list for when I get my smallholding.

Pit bulls. I don't think I'd be a good owner for one, but I really love cuddling with them and playing with them at the shelter.

Given that high biddability is very important to me, it's kind of odd, but...

<3

Seems like I'm not the only one with a (semi-secret) Ibizan "want"!

Ibizan Hound - Wirehaired
Saluki

Both breeds I adore but if/when I have sighthounds they will probably be either borzoi's or greys.

I'm a total herding dog person. I've only had ONE non-herder, and that was my JRT I got when I was 11 or 12. Other than that, starting when I was a baby and including all the rescues we've had, my family/myself has had 4 Aussies, 2 ACDs, 1 Collie, 1 Swedish Vallhund, 1 German Shepherd, and now 1 English Shepherd.

That said, I can totally see myself owning a Chihuahua. Like, absolutely. As much as I love my active herding breeds, I'd love to have something wee and cuddly.

I don't think I'll ever own one, but I think Borzois are absolutely stunning dogs. I just think they're incredibly, incredibly graceful and beautiful and sound so lovely. Unfortunately I don't think I could have a sighthound - I'm way too lazy about leashing.

I do love a good chihuahua, my main worry would be that I would step on it or sit on it. Really, I have sat on the cat on several occasions and he's a decent sized cat.

I'd also love an APBT but wouldn't have ine until they lift the ban on importing from overseas and we could get some nicely bred American lines back here, its virtually impossible to find a reputable APBT breeder here and the only ones I know of look like AmStaffs.
I have seen a nice few pups pop up in rescue though that look nothing like any of the other bully breeds over here.
