What is the one thing you splurge on?

Now I want to know what you drive...

ETA: dog stuff, definitely... I am constantly buying them things, it's awful.
Mazdaspeed Miata. It. . . does this.

It's not even that it's the fastest thing out there - there are plenty of few cars that beat it in a straight line - but it handles better than they do and when the boost kicks in it just kicks the **** in. Instant grin.

Nice. I want a car that does that.

I splurge on soda. Cokes, to be exact. I really shouldn't have spent that five dollars, but uh, I was out, and I need them.

Well since we moved to a small town in BC I haven't splurged on too much, now when I lived back home I splurged on books, Davids Tea, and clothes. Now my splurging is kept to a minimum and only when we go into the city and the splurging usually happens in Winners, I LOVE Winners.

So far since we have moved here our splurging is focused on hiking/camping stuff and skiing stuff, and when it comes to those things we buy quality. I am ashamed to say how much I allowed Tyler has spend on his skis. I also started splurging on house stuff, especially when we go to Winners. Its nice to have a house that finally is coming together.

Besides dog stuff, like most on here I suspect, lol, bath bombs and pop are my biggest splurges, I probably go through $10-$15 a week on bath bombs in the winter, and that's the ones I buy in town from a lady who makes them and they are $3 each, more if I order from etsy! But who can say no to a bath that smells like root beer.

Things for the dogs, I love buying things for the dogs, anything really but treats, toys & chewies are at the top of the list LOL.

Oh, also things for the horse, can't forget him LOL.

as far as I am concerned, boots are my main weakness, esp "faux boots" (the ones that only come up to your ankles) but they are a winter thing & I am anxiously waiting for them to go on sale in spring.

Most recently...soap. I have a love affair with Chagrin Valley Soap. I just boguht 3 more bars One is a dog shampoo bar because it was the only thing that made Logan's dandruff disappear for over 2 weeks. So, justified, right? ;)

Horse supplements from Smartpak. Yes, the beasties would survive without them, but they're just so shiny and pretty and bug-free when on them (Bullseye also gets a joint supplement).

I also love home organizing items, hence my fascination with Thirty-One.

Toilet paper.

I tend to be fairly thrifty in most other departments, but I will not skimp on the toilet paper. I want an impenetrable, yet comfortable wall between my hand and my butt. (TMI? Sorry.)

I have relatives that buy the cheapest TP possible, and I always feel so bad if I have to use the facilities at their house. The tissue is so thin it disintegrates if you look at wrong, and I have to practically unroll the entire tube before I have an acceptable thickness of paper to use.

Definitely animals/animal stuff. I am super thrifty (and low income) but I don't bat an eye at laying down a big chunk of cash to buy a dog/cat/horse, because I like what I like and it's important to me. And then they also get really expensive food that I totally can't afford.

I guess also camera and lenses. Not a necessity (but actually sort of is now!).

Definitely the animals. More specifically, horse blankets and tack, and all sorts of dog things. Could my horses do fine in Pleasant Ridge blankets? Yeah...probably. But I love Bucas and Rambos LOL. I also have never and will never own crappy tack - all of my stuff is high quality leather, which unfortunately is priced accordingly. I do work at a tack store, but our western selection is very limited so most stuff I buy I have to pay full retail.

Training classes I suppose too. I'm only in herding lessons ($120 a month) which aren't too much, but I'm hoping to either start nosework or get back into agility.

I don't spend too much on myself. Things I do buy I tend to buy quality, mostly outdoors stuff like gloves, shoes/boots. I only buy clothing for myself 1-2 times a year, and tend to head towards the clearance racks although I don't have an issue spending more on an item I LOVE and I know I'll wear lots (dresses are my weakness). I've gotten one manicure in my life and that was last year for a coworker's wedding! Never seen a RMT or chiro - but my horses have ;)

I splurge on rent. I pay crazy amounts of money to live in a NICE place with NICE amenities that is bright and cozy and clean where I can't hear my neighbors. I hate paying my rent, but it's worth it. It's also gated, and I don't worry about my car being snatched. I can walk to the store, the mall, any number of shops and restaurants. Great for going to the bar!

I also splurged on a car that I don't need. It's completely impractical, way too fast, scary to insure, and has such a hard suspension it hurts my back sometimes. . . and you know what? It's worth it. Any time I can't spend money on something I want because I decimated my savings for my car loan I just remember that I'd rather go drive my car, anyways. And if I had to pick a favorite between the car, the BF, and the LBD? The car might win. That is how much I love it.
Okay, so my update is that my rent went down over $1,000 per month by moving in with someone else and moving to CO. I no longer live in a super nice, quiet, spotlessly clean apartment with cream couches and carpet.

Moving up so high made my car a LOT slower and I plan on splurging to fix that next month.

Lately? Good produce. And I bought a nice little backpack for hiking.

I wanted to bump this back up to see if there were any new splurge items, lol.

I just died laughing again.

I love this thread.
