Hi, I'm a new member. I've had Summer for 12 years and have always been asked what she is. I have no idea. I'd simply say my precious mutt. But, after looking at some pictures on here and other places I have to say that I think she looks a lot like some of the GSD/chow X that I've seen. I feel kind of silly asking after 12 years but of course 12 years ago I didn't have internet either. So, here are some pictures. I had to add one of her and her angel sister who is waiting for us at the Bridge since the 1st of the year. Summer is not handing this very well at all. She is not crazy about dogs and there have only been two that she loved. Both have been dobermans and both are missed so much.

What are your ideas on her?

yeah maybe chow/shepard. I think I see some golden in there though especially in the last one, I'm not really good at this kind of thing though. She is beautiful though and very happy looking.

I see GSD and Chow, but also some Golden Retriever.

She's really cute.

I thought golden too until I saw some of the other chow/gsd mixes on here and other pictures when searching.

She is a very different dog. She is very selective with the affection she gives but she is lovely with my kids and obviously a mommas girl. Believe it or not after seeing the picture of her and my husband, it took her 3 years to trust him completely. She is not very happy now that she lost Cleopatra but we're working on it with lots of attention and getting her used to her "new normal". She's never been a lone dog before so this is new to her.

Thanks for your opinions. I'll give her your compliments. They'll make her happy.

I see a lot of golden in her and then I'd possibly say GSD, chow or maybe a long shot a little Nova Scotia??

Hello and welcome. So very sorry for your recent loss.
As for your other beauty I see a lot of golden in her. But what the heck after 12 years all you need to know is that she is your baby and a very attractive lady.

LOL, I agree Aussie. Like I said, I feel kind of silly even asking after so long. She is definitely my baby. Out of all my animals she is the only one that I can honestly say is 100% mine. Especially now that she is the lone dog. Amazing how fast they get spoiled.

What a loved dog...:)

I see a chow type muzzle in two of the pictures.
I had a chow/malamute and they do look similar.

In the other two pics I see golden too.

The saddle seems gsd....

So maybe gsd/chow/golden.... ;)

Thanks y'all. She enjoyed the attention from the forum and the compliments. I always thought GSD mixed with something and honestly her temperment has a lot of what I've read about chows. She is a sweet dog but only to a select few and does not like anybody but family and the closest of friends and is a bugger to train. 12 years and she makes up her own rules compared to my dobe who trained like and angel in a blink (past the eat your couch because you dared shut the bathroom door stage).
