When we got Jedi and Daisy from the humane society we were told they were half golden retriever/ half lab. But I just went back to the hum. soc. yesterday to drop off some food and they had two litters of lab (choc and black) puppies and they didn't really look like them at all. They have a golden color and when we take them out, most people ask if they are golden or lab, but what do you think?

I think that golden/lab is right. They have the same look as goldens, but their hair is shorter, and I think it's probably something they got from labs. Labs and goldens are still pretty similar, they just happened to get more of the golden. With any other cross, I think the other breed would show more. I'm no expert though.

I checked out Vizsla on the net b/c I hadn't heard of them, and besides the coloring, Jedi looks like he could have some of that in him. I can see him having more of that body structure because they are pretty lean. But what I found was that they were used as sporting dogs and show dogs and I can't see someone around here having one that would end up at the hum. soc. even if it was a mix.
Their personalities are different.
Jedi is VERY energetic and gets into everything. He likes to run and wrestle and always wants to know what you are doing. We're doing puppy school and is doing really good with his commands.
Daisy is happy to just be lying around. She just kind of hangs out and likes to snuggle. She will run around the back yard and wrestle with Jedi and then goes back to hanging out. At puppy school she can really "care less".
It's funny how they are so opposite; it's even funnier that they have the same traits as our kids!

Well we took Jedi and Daisy to the park last night and everyone asked "are they golden pups" or "are they lab pups" so I guess they have some of that in them. There was also a pure golden pup and a pure lab pup there (same ages) both bigger than Jedi and Daisy so I'm curious to see how big they are when they are grown! But the funniest was seeing Jedi with a 11 month old Mastiff! Too cute...
