Hmmm what I get next will really depend on where I am when I am ready for another dog...I will deffinately always have at least one preferably two Siberian Huskies (just enough pulling power to get around even if I''m not competing) for sledding/scootering, obedience, and therapy work. Maybe agility...

From there here is the list in no particular order because like I said, what i get next depends on where I am and what I''m doing.

-Caucasian Ovcharka from a breeder already picked out (livestock guarding)
-Central Asian Ovcharka from a breeder already picked out (livestock guarding)
-Sarplaninac no specific breeder picked out but I know who I will go to to point me in the right direction (livestock guarding)
-Patterdale Terrier/Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Jag Terrier mix breeder already picked out (rodent hunter, obedience, agility, flyball, therapy)

I also want a "right hand dog" but am torn as to which breed I want. The ones I am juggling are: Rottweiller, American Bulldog, American Pit Bull Terrier, Belgian Malinois, Belgian Tervuren, Australian Kelpie, Australian Cattle Dog, Dutch Shepherd or a European German Shepherd...hmmm so many choices! I have a few others floating around my mind but those are the ones that keep popping up. Depending on which breed I choose I want to do - personal protection, bite work, shutzhund, french ring, obedience, therapy, herding (both competitive and at home), and anything else I can get involved in.

The livestock I was referring to above is livestock I hope to own as I hope to own a very large farm/ranch and have some horses, a highlander cow or two, some goats and a few chickens. But again, who knows what I will end up with! As much as I have thought and planned and pondered I could end up in a small apartment with a Rennaissance Bulldog (another breed I really like) or a Chinese Crested (hairless variety)...

The only breed for me is Dobes. Cole is my first Dobe and is all the dog I wanted and more. He completed his conformation championship in 21 shows with 4 majors and a BOB over specials from the AmBred class. Won his class in all but 8 shows, 7 of which he took second place. As a lark, and because I wanted to go to the shows at VA Beach and Cole goes everywhere I go, we entered him as a special in 2 of the shows that weekend. His first time out he took BOS! I was floored. May bring him out of mothballs in a year or so as a veteran.

He completed the WAE with flying colors. He has his WAC and currently has his CD. We completed the CD in 4 shows coming in second, first and fourth place (with an nq in there). We are working towards the CDX and ultimately would like to get a UD. He is not an obedience dog, so do not expect to go higher than the UD if we can get there. If I can get my act together, we will train and compete in Rally too.

Because he has the CH, CD, WAC, he also has a ROM from the DPCA. That is a great honor and I hope to go to the Dobe National next year to receive his certificate. That would be cool because his cousin also has been awarded a ROM and will be receiving his certificate at the 2007 National.

I am already on my breeder's list for a bitch from their next litter. They plan to breed next year. I think in the spring. I am in no hurry. Whenever they breed, I am ready for a puppy.

Well, I can never see myself without a GSD. My next dog will be a sable GSD. He will be from West German or Czech working lines, and will be a personal protection, schutzhund dog. And depending on how long it takes me to get him, he might become my patrol dog when I become a K9 handler. But other than that, I want a belgian shepherd (either a mali or turv from working lines). And a few other breeds but that WAY down the line.

Once I graduate and we get a house, I would like to get another dog. So this is 2-3 years away. I would like to get a Border Collie... if not, maybe an Aussie.

I will always be a Great Dane owner, but a couple of other breeds I have thought about in addition to danes are: a rottie, a bernese mountain dog, a briard, and a bull terrier. All of these breeds have also owned my heart in one way or another. But no matter what other breeds I share my home with, danes will always be there first. :)

I'm going to adopt a Doberman. Never had one, but I love that long arched neck and the very short coat. The wife and son aren't very happy about the idea, but I've put up with the cat(s) for 10 years. My turn. Just need to do some fencing and gates around the homestead....

I want to always have a GSD along with the Filas, too, Debi. I will probably continue to adopt my GSDs though, whether pure bred or mixed. If only Bimmer and Bear weren't one-of-a-kinds :)

My next dog will be another APBT without a doubt. I love the breed and Roush needs a friend!

I actually already talked with hubby about this, and he likes the idea.

Once we get a bigger house, we're going to foster. But we're going to differ from the norm a bit--we're going to foster large breed adult dogs. It's so sad how they are always the hardest to find homes for. I think it's awful that of all the foster homes in our town, only ONE will foster large breed dogs. All the rest will only foster small dogs.

Who knows? Maybe we'll find our next dog among the fosters.:D

Probably whatever agility prospect rescue comes down the pipes (and can get along with Meg). The rescue I got her from currently has an amazing border/jack russell who I'm in love with.

I don't think I will ever outgrow my obsession with owning Lundehund, but that is mostly fantasy right now. The health issues concern me - but they are so darn cute! I do beg for one every time my dad flies to Norway;) . Really, how hard could it be to sneak one into a carryon bag?
