This year, I'm switching things up a bit. I used to always stay at my dads house Christmas Eve night and wake up Christmas morning with my dad, little brother, step-mom, step-sister and all the dogs. My step-mothers family used to come over on Christmas Eve too and her parents would stay over until Christmas morning. Then I'd drive over to my moms for Christmas Day festivities with her side of the family (my uncle, aunt, her husband, her kid, my grandma, her husband).

This year is going to be a lot more quiet. I'm staying with my MOM and little sister this year Christmas Eve night. She will be 5 soon and is VERY excited this year and I just want to spend it with her and see her excited face. So I'm currently at my dads house now, for his birthday (today), and will leave tomorrow before dark to get to my mothers. And my uncle is going away this year, and my grandpa is as well. So it will be much smaller this year.

Well my mom and step dad are staying with us over Christmas which is super exciting. Christmas Eve we have our church service (I'm singing) and then we'll come home and let Hannah open a present or two, maybe drive around on the way home from church and check out some lights.

Christmas day we will get up in the morning and watch Hannah open all her presents, watch Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Parade on TV, have a nice breakfast with all the fixins and veg out until the afternoon and then we head over to brians cousins place for the family dinner and more presents lol

We are on vacation in South Carolina and will be getting up early to watch the sun rise on the beach, go on a long early walk, then back to the little beach house we're renting. Probably getting ready and showered, then for an early lunch at the local fresh seafood place. Christmas movies in front of the fireplace for the afternoon. Maybe another beach walk. Christmas cookies and hot chocolate at night with board games :)

Well my brother is here and it's just my parents, me and him. Tomorrow night we will probably just watch movies. And Christmas Day we usually open presents around 8 or 9 am. And then probably take a nap after.

Then we will have dinner early in the afternoon since my brother has to leave with his friend he came here with to go back to his town. We're having prime rib and some other stuff. So glad my family is all together because that is more important to us (and me) than any present. :)

Christmas eve we go to my mum's cousin's house for a huge family dinner/gathering. We do it every year and it's always a lot of fun; lots of singing and laughing and good food. It's pretty much the only time of year I see some of my second cousins because as we've all grown up we've grown apart. So it's good to see the extended family. :D

Christmas day we wake up (my mother, brother and me) and open presents. Then we pick up my nana and bring her to our house for a HUGE Christmas breakfast. Only this year her new live-in caregiver will be joining us, as will my big (sorority sister). She's from across the country and unfortunately couldn't make it home for Christmas. And then in the evening we go to my mum's boyfriend's house to open up more presents and for a huge Christmas dinner. :)

And then boxing day is another massive family celebration at my nana's house (with my mum's two brothers and their families). As you can tell, we love to eat. :D

Oh, Fran . . . ((((((((BIGHUGS)))))))) I know that's not what you had in mind.

Wish you could come spend the afternoon at Dina's with me. I know she and her family would welcome you -- and so would all the creatures.

Tomorrow is my nephew's birthday, so we always go to the Mall of America early in the morning to do some last minute shopping, and then spend the day going on rides at Nickelodeon Universe (aka, Camp Snoopy, forever in my mind).

After we get home from that, we'll have to get ready to go to my aunt's house - we go there every year for dinner, games, and to play a gift swap game.

Then, time to come home and do last minute present wrapping, gorge on some frozen pizzas, and start watching 24 hours of A Christmas Story. :D

Christmas Day I am not 100% sure what is happening lol. I know it is being held at my house. We're having prime rib, turkey, shrimp scampi, and crab legs. We'll have a billion presents to open because, well, there's a billion people in my family lol. We basically just hang out and eat and have an awesome time! :)

Christmas eve is my favorite night of the year. We go to my inlaws house and eat and drink and watch It's a Wonderful Life. It's a fantastic tradition and means so much to me as my family really has none.

This year is going to be completely different from all the others.

It's the first year the BF and I have been physically together.
It's the first Christmas since my Nanny passed away.
It's the first time I've taken a vacation during the winter break.

Today we spent the day with my dad and Papa. Mostly eating, since we exchanged some presents earlier in the week. Tomorrow we have to drop Gwen off at the boarding place before 3 and then we head to my mom's. I'll walk my brothers and everyone else up at 6 am to open presents :D We open presents and be merry and have fun and then BF and I leave Christmas afternoon. We drive two hours to the airport, crash at our hotel and then board a flight for Milwaukee at 6:40 the next morning. We'll return to Arkansas on the 2nd and pick up Gwen on the 3rd. Such a busy holiday season. I'm glad for the chaos though. It keeps my mind off my Nanny.

I love Christmas. Family and food and presents. Awesomeness. I just wish it would snow. It was in the 60's again today. : ( It's supposed to snow Tuesday, though.

Our Christmas Eve is a bit full (as usual), but a little fuller this year. With my mom in the rehab facility (physical - she's not a druggie :D ), we're going to try to go see her in the morning. Then we will finish up some food prep for Christmas Day (I'm making a baked ziti so I need to cook my sauce up the day before). We'll light our bayberry candle around 4 or so (sundown-ish) and then we have Christmas Eve services at church at 6:30. Since my daughter and I are both in the choir, we have to be there by 6, so we're in the car about 5:15/5:30.

After services, we'll come home, chill a bit, wrap presents, get the kids off to bed and finish up their wrapping while watching TBS's 24 hours of A Christmas Story.

Christmas Day we'll be heading to my brother's for an early dinner/late lunch (like 2:30 or so).

We're going to go spend the rest of the week with my in-laws at their place in Delaware, so we'll probably leave Thursday. However, my daughter and I will be coming back Friday night because we had a death in our church family and we are both singing at the funeral, plus I'm doing a life streaming feed for it as we are expecting too many people to fit into the sanctuary. We'll head back down south again Saturday after the funeral.

I may get the relax a bit eventually :)

On a side note, I'm finally starting to feel "Christmasy". We have the tree and our great room decorated up and my youngest is currently placing the plasticville houses all around my train layout under the tree. She's measuring out how far apart the houses go and making sure the playground goes near the church and the cows go near the barn. She's not a perfectionist on anything, but she's really taking this seriously.

Christmas music from the cable Music Choice stations is piping through my surround system and we're just relaxing and decorating now.

Sorry to hear that Fran :(

You'd be welcome to join us for festivities, of course. We're not exactly close, though.

At first I was bummed out cause we couldn't afford to fly to PA to be with our families, then I was bummed cause we don't have a dogsitter so we can't drive up to my aunt's house in Vegas, and now I'm actually really looking forward to all of us (me, Chris & the 4 dogs) enjoying our first Christmas REALLY all together, in our first house. <3

erWell today (christmas Eve) I will be spending the day on Mount fernie Skiing with Tyler, my parents and my brother. Then in the evening we will be going over to our friends Sar and Alan and having a Christmas Eve Sea food dinner.

Then on Christmas day after a big breakfast and un-wrapping presents the boys probably will go back to Fernie and Ski, while mom and I cook the Turkey and make a salad and then Sar and Alan will be coming to my place to have turkey dinner and exchange presents.
