Sports-wise, I'm working on Cohen's box turn in flyball, and a more fluid stand in motion and signal from a distance.

Tricks-wise, I'm working on Cohen doing a scoot from a distance, jumping up on my back and then holding a beg. She just needs a bit more confidence in her ability to balance while up there, but she's getting there. And handstand. There's always work to be done on her handstand.

Ozzy is perfecting his barking for no good **** reason and trash tearing up skills. Also, him and Enzo are working on sneaking onto the sofa when we aren't looking.

Indy is finishing up task training and we're working on guide work. She's also learning to go under things and to ignore small children that obviously need to be kissed.

Jones is working on being an adorable, sassy, spunky, confidant, outgoing puppy who can walk on a leash without being a trout. And socializing with people. Hes so outgoing though I may need to switch gears and teach him to ignore people and other dogs. Hes also almost house trained and has learned to ask to go poop. We're working on not peeing in the house.

I'm working on Didgie being able to fetch and interact with me at the same time as Traveler. Holding stays while Traveler is getting worked/played with. Staying on her crate when I'm vacuuming. Really, just a lot of self control work.

Also rehashing what down and sit mean since apparently she's decided Sit means down and down means lay down and jump back up really fast.

With Traveler I'm working on building his tug drive back up, working on staying for extended periods of time.

Nothing super interesting, mainly using gross winter to work on the things I don't like and find boring.

With Hudson

What we are working on:
not destroying all the things between now and spring.

What we should be working on:
More consistent Sit & Down & holding until released
You cannot eat the cat
Walking on the leash like there is a brain in his pea head and he doesn't have to CHASE EVERY LEAF and MEET EVERY PERSON and OMG!!! THEY MIGHT WANT TO PET ME!!! Seriously dude, have some self respect.

With Kaia, The New Girl, I'm primarily working on focus/attention and impulse control. I'm actually impressed with how well she's coming along with just a couple of short training sessions (i.e., a handful or two of treats) every day or so. I'll throw in some basic OB (sit, come, down) while we're working, and she's getting the hang of it.

It's hard to remember that she's basically a puppy in an adult's body while we're working, but I am proud of the progress she's made in just a few weeks.

We're pretty excited too. I was telling the You Know Whos that, other than the rare crate tantrum and overexcitable zoomies, that I am really, really happy with her.

She ain't no Flower, but she belongs with me.

Today we started work on polishing Marsh's retrieve. The biggest problem is a loose mouth and chomping. He has an acceptable obedience retrieve, but his hold needs to be stronger for field work.

I also started working on cuing (where? hand over head, send) for marks, and eventually lining.

More work on relaxing in exciting situations, and switching from work to relax. Less whining, but not none.

He finally FINALLY got the hang of sit pretty. So now to add duration and I should probably put it on cue so it stops showing up every where I don't want it.

I had him out to a training class today. I really need to get him out more, he is such a very good boy.

She will never take the place of your Flower (no dog ever will!), but I do believe that he brought her to you for a reason <3

Today I was reminded that I am working on nail trims with Maisy. She came to me as a dog who is terrified of and utterly panics for nail trims or really any type of restraint. After some early, clumsy and unsuccessful attempts to change her mind and a brief period where I regretfully followed some counterproductive "just hold 'er down and get it done" advice, I've been medicating her to be able to get them done for awhile.

Now that she and I have been playing a lot of low-stress shaping/clicker training for awhile, I've revisited my attempts to change her mind about nail trims. I've ever so slowly made progress... and today I cut two nails. No drugs, no struggle, no panic. She started to tense up so I quit while we were ahead, but.... TWO NAILS. May not seem like a big deal to some, but I could weep. My sweet, brave girl.

Sloan is working on corner precision and starts of tracks, she is a bit over zealous and over shoots but settles in quickly, I don't want her missing a track because of this shotgun behavior. We're also working on building more eye contact on a heel. Denis never cared so she has a loose checking in style of heel and I'm trying to flash it up a bit, she looks so pretty when she's there. We're also proofing weave entries and playing with weaving between my legs. I am trying to clean up her front a bit as she loves pivots so much she tends to lean to the left.

Backup is working on straight short tracks.

Today I found the glitch (thanks to someone's suggestion in the agility thread) with his 2x2 entry. He can nose target but cannot do it when asked to leave the reward. He'll shoot past and come back on the target with the reward in eye sight. Today we worked on trying to achieve this. It was... Frustrating. lol We'll be tackling this for a while.

Arnold forgot "down". Ummm... Der.

Zander is working on basic stuffs, going over simple commands and distractions just to proof him for the cross country trip, as well as the airplane. When we get to Memphis, he'll get re-acquainted with the kennel, too. Since he's a generally skittish dog, it's nice to just go over everything and make sure his nerves are as solid as possible and nothing is a surprise.

Also, he seems to have randomly forgotten to HOLD STILL while being picked up. Or rather, he's gotten a wild hair up his butt and decided zoomies are WAY more fun than being picked up. So we're working on that.

I'm working on Jack's loose leash walking. It's going...um... well. Lets just say he's figured out that if he turns around the leash is loose is he can go forawrd again so he essentially just spins in a circle and hits the end of the leash, and repeats. Or he'll sit down and bound forward, sit and bound, sit and bound. So i'm gonna have to rethink this. Or just not take him on walks.

You just need to remember to reward him WHILE he's holding proper position, BEFORE he hits the end of the leash and comes back. This happens all the time in my classes when people ONLY reward after the dog has made a mistake and hit the end of the leash, then comes back for the treat. Feed him for holding his position near you.

Also look up silky lead training, it's pretty good!

I'm working on walking the dogs as a group and not spazzing out and barking at every person or dog we see.

Last night I was walking 4 and we were able to walk past a dog on the far side of the road without them barking! Success!

I haven't even tried rewarding him with treats on the walk. I'm gonna go out and get some hot dogs and work with him at home for a while. He gets a bit bouncy when there's high value treats involved and I didn't want him jumping all around the road. And by bouncy I mean he jumps to my head level. Again and again and again. He's adorable. Thanks for the tips! I needed some fresh ideas

The biggest thing I'm working on right now is perfecting Deke's retrieve, which is going pretty well.
