So any nice plans today? getting things ready? last minute shopping? anything?

Its going to be a busy one here for us today. I've got sugar cookie dough chilling in the fridge. we have to cut them into shapes and decorate them later. those are the cookies we are leaving for santa.

We also have to make our brownie christmas trees to take to the family christmas tomorrow

I've already got the baggie of reindeer food made. for anyone with kids... this is fun and easy. I mix up a little baggie with oats and then add Christmas-y sprinkles. At night we go and spread it around on the lawn for santas reindeer :)

We have a church service at 7 (I wish it was earlier but oh well no biggie)

Hannah will get to open a gift or two tonight from mommy and daddy and then once she's in bed alllll the gifts from santa come out :)

PLUS we have to run out to petsmart because I forgot a filter for the poor fish we got yesterday lol... I'm not looking forward to going to any shopping plaza today lol but it must be done.

Right now we're just hanging out at home and waiting for my parents and sister to come over. We're going to make prime rib for dinner and exchange gifts :)

Tomorrow morning the chihuahuas and Rory are going to open up their massive stash of presents.

We're having a very easy day. Dan and I eloped to Fripp Island, S.C., for the past week. We started this day early for a walk on the beach watching the sun rise. We'll run to grab some groceries and maybe stop by a quaint little antique store on the way back. Then we'll stop for lunch for a bucket of steamed oysters. I'm sure we'll return for another walk on the beach before settling in the house for cocoa and cookies and a Christmas movie. Tonight some board games/movies, etc.

Honestly, this is the best, most relaxing Christmas ever!

I LOVE that little custom. I wish I had done that with my kids. Maybe I still can, even if one is almost 32 and the other is 29. :D

It sounds like you're very busy. I hate it when something like that happens, where you have to go shopping because you forgot something vital. And it's crazy crowded out there.

Well, we celebrate Xmas eve and Xmas day. Tonight, my ex will make a Czech dinner and they do Xmas on the eve. Everyone can open a present or two.
And we'll incorporate some of the Czech customs. Then tomorrow in the morning we'll do like my family did and open presents and have a special breakfast. Then I'm making the dinner for tomorrow night. All of this takes place at my house because now I have the nice, big house with the functional kitchen. So it's just my kids and their Dad and me.

If there's a foot ball game on and I think there is, I'm doomed to listen to all that yelling and noise that comes out of the TV. He's coming over to install the other dimmer switch for me. He did one late afternoon yesterday, but it got kind of dark and so he's doing the other one today. So, I guess I have to put up with football since he's doing that for me, right?

Actually, I have mixed feelings about those noisy football games. They kind of bring back memories of when I was a happy kid. My brother and Dad watched them and yelled at the TV and swore. I'd ask my brother when he could come out and play with me and he said there's 4 more minutes in this game. I could never figure out why 4 minutes took so long. :rofl1:

Well, merry Xmas everyone!

This is my first Christmas Eve in FOUR years at home. We're usually in Tennessee in a cabin relaxing. I have to wait a whole week for that now :(

Mostly hanging around the house. Last minute preparations for tomorrow. I have to get the turkey in the brine and double check the fuel for the smoker, get the tree decorated and the trains around the bottom. We are way behind on the decorating touches. :(

We will be heading to church tonight for a 6:30 service and then home to finish up wrapping and all that fun stuff.

On the way to the inlaws for brunch and gifts. Then at some point tonight we are going to mass (we aren't Catholic but love my grandmas old church and try to go there for Chtistmas). After that we will have Christmas with my Dad and his side of the family. In between inlaws and church we have more gifts to wrap, I have to run out for some small stuff.

Right now I REALLY NEED some caffeine.....

I'm working this morning, then my boyfriend and I are joining my family for our church's Christmas Eve service. After that, heading to my parents' house for desserts, then back to Mike's and heading off to bed because I have to be at work at 6:30 Christmas morning.

Well I wish today was a good day...
TJ is at his papa's funeral right now :(

But other than that, we aren't going anything.
Tomorrow on the hand will be a very eventful day.

Oh and those of you that are going out into the land of craziness (IE, last minute Christmas shopping) yall are brave souls, I tell ya.
We had SIX wrecks last night, in the span of about 3 hours, plus around 15 people pulled over in about a span of 5-ish hours. No way, no how am I going out in all this madness lol

Oh gosh. I'm so sorry. This is not a very happy time for your family. Give TJ my condolences and my sympathy to the whole family.

Thank you. And I will.
His papa helped raise him so it is hitting him pretty hard, but he is trying not to let it ruin his Christmas spirit. He is such a tough guy, but he is a big softie at times too.

We're just back from picking up the turkey and other last minut stuff and thn in the next 2 hours I need to completely scrub out my room, bath Aura (she's coming visiting with us on Christmas day) tidy the living room and scrub down the table for tomorrow's dinner. Then when my dad gets home were going to visit my aunt and granny. Then I have to deal with the horses since I told my boss I'd look after them completely over Christmas. Then I have to clean the kitchen and begin Christmas dinner so that my mum doesn't have to do it all when she gets home from work.

We went to the mall to get Justin's picture with Santa. :yikes:

Actually, though, it was pretty dead there. Literally, there was no line to see Santa at all! I was SHOCKED. We walked right in and had all the time in the world to get a good picture.

Other than that, we are tidying house, then heading over to my husband's parent's house for Christmas Eve dinner. We will go to the candlelight service at church tonight, too.

right now I am taking a "chaz break"--LOL! Have been packing and prepping--soon we will head out on our trek to my Dad's house where there will be a houseful of at least 30 people--all family (siblings, their spouses, their children) where we will have our traditional Christmas Eve dinner of home made pasta, sauce, and all the meatballs and braciole you could want! Lots of wine, chatting, eating, and carrying on--then we will all hunker down in the same house (the one I grew up in) and wait for santa to bring the goods! ;) It is wonderful and exhausting at the same time.
