This week is going to be an exciting one.

Hubby had a very good interview today so that's just a good start to any week...

Tomorrow I have an interview for a job that just fell into my lap. Our Pastors wife works at a preschool and they are looking for a Teachers assistant for their tuesday and thursday morning class. The director called me the other day to see if I was interested. She said that Wendy (our pastors wife) spoke so highly of me and felt that I was the right person for the position so the director called me to arrange a time to meet and talk about it. It's only 8 hours a week but it's a few extra bucks that will help out and it sounds amazingly fun. The best part is... Hannah gets to come to work with me for free :)

I talked to Wendy on Sunday at church and she said the director is super excited to meet me and told me I basically already have the job if I want it lol. so that's very exciting.

Then on Sunday I am getting BAPTIZED!!!!!! SO excited about that. Pastor mentioned that he has some people wanting to be baptized and if anyone else was interested to just let him know. I had been thinking a lot about doing it for a while now even though I was baptized as an infant but I wanted to be baptized as an adult since I've been Saved. So this Sunday is the big day. I can't wait.

Wonder what other wonderful things this week will bring. it is only Monday afterall :lol-sign:

That's great! Vibes for good results for both interviews and that the week just keeps getting better and better! Congrats on your baptism, too. :)

Thats so awesome :) congrats to both of you. And congrats to the up coming baptism, that in itself is super exciting. I'm hoping to get baptized in the future, but have not even started looking for a new church since moving. And I am not looking forward to church shopping.

Thank you :)

Church shopping can be difficult lol. We searched for the longest time and couldn't find the one I felt was the right one for us. I actually ended up finding this church when I wasn't even looking. My moms group was having a playdate and it was being held in this church. The church is so small that I drove right by it the first time lol. When I finally found it I walked and immediately asked my friend if this was her church and can we come LOL. I just knew as soon as I walked through the doors that this was the church we had been searching for... Hidden in a little converted house behind the Dairy Queen lol.

It's the tiniest church with a small congregation and the Pastor is the most dedicated and caring person and so is his wife. When Brian had his surgery at 6:30 am our pastor met us there to pray with us before he went in. He is so down to earth, funny and engaging.

I always call our church the Island of misfit toys lol. We are a small group but incredibly diverse. We are basically all the ones that didn't fit in anywhere else lol

Good luck in your search. It can be tiring but SO worth when you finally find THE ONE.

Thanks guys :) Brian has a call back interview tomorrow :)

it really is an awesome church. We love it there so much. I don't know how many times a week something makes us say "I love our church". We look forward to every sunday.

today at the grocery store we ran into another lady from our church who was really in need of someone to vent to and pray for her and her family. it just felt so good to stand around and talk her down and let her let it all out in the middle of the grocery store parking lot and when she left she felt a lot better than she did going in. Running into each other was not an accident :)

A little more about my job status....

For the longest time, I coveted my old job. It ruled me. Yes, I was making fantastic money, had good benefits and all that. But it consumed me. It was the primary catalyst for my panic attack. It brought out the worst in me; anger, frustration, impatience, stress... So I just up and quit.

FF to now. After a few weeks of wondering if I made a mistake, it now looks like there will be 3, hopefully 4 offers to choose from, which is another kind of thing to worry about. LOL I figured God would show me the job I was to have by it being the only offer. WRONG. But I reckon its a good kind of thing to have to worry about.

Tomorrow is the interview for the job that I want the most. Its the one that is most nearby and right in the wheelhouse of my skill set. I just need to be wary of listening only to what I want.

Thank you all for the well wishes. I had forgotten how stressful and tedious the job search process is. LOL

What blessed news! :)

Puck, even if 4 are offered to you, God will still guide you. ;)

I know. LOL The challenge with 4 is to be sure I listen and choose the one I am supposed to, not necessarily the one I want. I say that because one of them is another consulting type job, basically the same thing I was doing before, just for a bigger company. Was it the consulting stuff, (dealing with hundreds of clients) or just consulting in the toxic environment I was in?

But, in the end... What a silly and blessed thing to be whining about. LOL Ugh.

Congrats! My sister is a full time preschool teacher and LOVES her job even after she's been doing it for around 8 years :) Congrats on the baptism too.....that is fantastic news. Your new church sounds so much like our church, we have a fantastic pastor & wife combo.

And to Puck, congrats on your searching success. I'm positive God will put you exactly where you are supposed to be. That doesn't mean it will be your dream job, or you won't get frustrated, angry, or other things you may not like........but you know to have faith in God's plan. Everything has a reason. I will say a prayer for your guidance and peace :)

Congrats on the job sparks!

Puck, I think it's awesome that you recognized what that job was doing to you and got out. Most people would have stayed there and let it consume them. Pray, take time to listen, and God will lead you down the right path. :)

Thank you. It really all comes back to Romans 8:28.

Now, to just LISTEN. LOL

I'm glad you have choices, Puck, and I am sure you will use your faith and judgement to pick the right one for you, at this point in your life.

And Sparks, a GIANT congratulatory ((((HUG)))) for you.

You both deserve the best.

I know how important a good house of worship can be. Our meeting has supported us when we needed support, both financially and spiritually, and rejoiced with us when things have gone well. It is amazing the power of God that there is within a congregation.

I GOT A JOB!!!!! :D

And it was not even one of the 3 I thought it would be. The first place I interviewed at, my enterprise skills were not a match. They needed somebody who could hit the ground running with a massive scale Exchange migration. I honestly told them that my skills were not on that kind of a scale, yet. FF to today. The person who interviewed me had a position open up and they liked me so much, other than the need for me to have a month to get up to speed with the scale, they just offered it to me without another interview.

Its one of the most humbling things that has ever happened to me. Also, the pay and benefits are unreal. Its a bit of a hike, about 49 miles one way. There is another person there who lives in Lancaster, so maybe we can car (truck in my case, LOL) pool.

Happy dance! THANK YOU all for the prayers and vibes.

Thanks everyone for the support and well wishes.

This was an amazing series of events today. The day started out with a rejection letter in an email from a company he emailed with but his skill set just wasn't quite right for the position and he knew that would be the case after the interview with them but it still really hit him hard and he was a bit down in the dumps.

When he told me about the rejection letter I immediately stopped and prayed and this is exactly what I prayed....

"Dear God, Brian was dealt a hard blow this morning and while we know you will guide us and everything will be just fine his morale is really low right now. He really needs to hear some good news today even if the good news isn't THE job that you want him to have the boost in morale is just what he needs. if it's not the right job you'll tell us and point us in the right direction but he just needs some good news. Please Lord, let him get a phone call or an email with good news to lift his spirits."

I may be paraphrasing but that's essentially what I prayed for.

I kid you not... 5 minutes later the phone rang with the job offer and it was from a company that he really didn't even expect to hear back from lol.
