A spin-off of the picky eaters thread. What are some unusual/weird/uncommon foods you've tried?

I've never had anything super weird, like rocky mountain oysters or crazy bugs or something, but I've a few things that aren't common around here:

frog's legs
alligator meatballs
ostrich
quail/quail eggs
chocolate covered crickets
elk
bison
rabbit
boar (i think these are common elsewhere in the country, but not common here)

what are some unusual things you've eaten?

Crickets? EWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

I've had snail (not a fan... heck I don't remember how in the world I got convinced to try it. I think I didn't know what it was), rabbit, boar (not a fan... too tough), squail. Oysters are still one of the grossest things for me though.

I can't say I've ever eaten anything overly weird. I am not a picky eater but I am NOT an adventurous eater either lol

Not all weird, but aside from the "normal" chicken/beef/turkey

frog legs
alligator
ostrich
boar
bear
buffalo
elk
emu
rabbit
venison
capon
goose

I think that's about it, though I think I'm missing some..

I've had all the kinds of birds you can imagine... capon is one of them, lol. Rooster, squails, different kinds of turkeys... much more common in France.

Eaten a lot of random game meats.

The weirdest dishes were probably fish head soup (I ate the eyes on a dare for $1 each and made some gas money! woo!)

Chicken legs. Fried duck feet. This weird Vietnamese doughy pastry that was green and spongy, it was some kind of thing that gets locked away and fermented for a long time. It was good though.

Taramosalata. It's Greek carp roe stuff and it's a really good spread/dip.

And raw limpets. nom. lol

I've never had venison, which to me seems like a pretty common thing to eat. I've never had the chance.

Mostly the 'normal' weird ones like ostrich and escargot. Alligator and frog. Etc.

And tons of game meat. Almost everything we make over here is venison substituted in the meal for beef.

I tried frog legs on a dare ... tasted like chicken really. But not something I'd order on purpose.

I don't like most gamey meets, I've tried duck and venison and bison. Not a fan.

Oh god octopus. Tried it, GROSS.

Depends on what is defined as weird

I've eaten elk, venison, bison, wild turkey, lamb, veal

I've eaten cat... Was friends with an asian family that made it and they offered it to me. Felt rude saying no. Wasn't a fan.

Sushi... Some find that weird
Freshwater Eel
Raw quail eggs on top of sushi rice wrapped in seaweed

Blood pudding
Blood sausage
Liver sausage

I really want to try alligator and ostrich
