i always get pit bull, which annoys me on two levels.

had a catahoula x pit that i used to get great dane puppy with, which was remarkably intelligent considering he was merle, for strangers to know what merle was. and that danes came in it.

Holly's a smallish girl, so I get asked if she's a Whippet a lot. Once if she was an Italian Greyhound.

Riggin got "Pit Bull" once... I think that's a dark brindle thing. He's on a diet now!

Jesse... omgosh, Great Dane, always Great Dane. Fawn coloured, very large and very shy. And they always ask in high, squealing voices as they try to pet him, which makes him want to climb up the nearest tree.

They're all greyhounds.

I did have a neighbour call me at work once to tell me that one of my dogs was loose, in our driveway. I called home, it was a deer.

I have a mutt, so people always want to guess. I had a guy straight up ask me if Norris was a pit bull. That would be a no, lol.

I think Norris is a cattle dog/english coonhound mix. The paperwork that came from the original shelter he was pulled from (in some rural area of VA) says that he's a lab, basset hound and cattle dog mix. Sometimes I wonder if that's true, considering his front legs are every so slightly bent a bit.

The guesses I've got are walker hound, foxhound, "some sort of hound", cattle dog, and people have guessed Akita or husky because of the way his tail curls on his back. Cattle dogs can have curly tails sometimes according to the cattle dog forum, they call it "stinkwad tail" and that fits Norris, because he IS a stinkwad! I've also had people guess Swiss Mountain Dog because they think his head is big. This is the dog in my siggie.

Norris's curly tail.

I never get good ones. I get asked what Schen is a lot, but no one makes assumptions first.

I did have a few people argue when they asked what Kaiden was and I said JRT. I did have a woman tell me that I clearly didn't know what I was talking about as JRTs are all now PRTs. I told her I was on the board of directors for the JRTCC (which I was at the time) and that I would let the National breed club know we were all wrong. (she was very rude)
