Where do you make yours? Any advice?

I don't have much time, I have even less energy, and minimal desire BUT I would like a website for the dogs. Largely just for fun and to keep the dogs accomplishments, photos, videos, and plans in one place.

I don't want to pay for a site either though, any tips?

Lots and lots of people are basically just using blogger templates now for that sort of thing. You can tag each entry so that you can easily search for/find what you want.

Lots of people use blogger.. I like tumblr personally but that's only because I'm more used to it lol

at the end of the day.. I'd much rather just make facebook FAN pages for their dogs. It's SO MUCH EASIER!! and I like the timeline format for groups.. it works well for dog pages.

hehe and corvus has one! http://www.facebook.com/CorvusTheSuperMutt

Wordpress is a good choice if you want partial website, partial blog. My entire website is Wordpress-run (you can check it if you click on my bannerthing) but if you know the very basics of web design you can make one REALLY easily through their website:

www.wordpress.org

Blogger's great if it's your thing, I personally like the extended versatility of Wordpress. But if you want something that's usable right out of the box, Blogger is perfect.

Would something like that be easy to set up a gallery on or should you know coding? I'm on my phone right now and can't check it out yet.

Wordpress? You can get several gallery plugins (I use NextGEN gallery) that are varied in complexity. I didn't need to use any code for NextGEN, but setting it up how I liked took a bit of effort.

I use Webs.com for building mine. If I want to go paid with it I can but for now, it is free. Easy to use templates and easy to edit to your satisfaction!

Here is mine which is in serious need of updating! www.vonkromehaus.webs.com

I was also going to suggest wordpress! I bought my website (I have several so I bought a hosting package with room for all of them) and my provider has an "easy setup" section where I just clicked and it installed wordpress for me. I've installed it the traditional way before, but it was nice and easy to just click and install LOL. But wordpress.org works just fine too, that's how my Auggie Bloggie was hosted before I bought sheltiechick.com for it. You can do a ton with wordpress. AND if you decide later you'd like to buy a website, you can port your .org over to your new personal domain easy-peasy.

I LOVE Weebly. I have made 2 websites with it (I did buy the domain names for each, though, but otherwise they could have been free) and it's super easy. I'm really not good with computers (heck, I don't even have a siggy or avatar here because I don't know how to make/resize things like that), but with just a bit of help from my DH utilizing his photoshop skills, I think my sites look pretty good!

I just use the blog feature of Weebly for my dog site, which is super easy to use and looks nice.

Here is my dog site:

And here is me cello site (I'm a professional cellist):

Ok. I built mine with adobe Dreamweaver. It cost and arm and a leg, and I had to learn some serious stuff to do it. But I built and maintain our website myself.
Hosting costs 6.99 a month
