I don't know anything about Addison's, but I wanted to say congrats on Emma coming home! At least you have something to work with now...best of luck!

Shadow will probably be a good one to chime in here.

I almost fostered a dog with Addison's and his vet and my vet said it was something that could be worked with and the dog would live a long, happy, healthy life as long as the medication was given on time.

    Good luck to you!

Good that you have a diagnoses, unfortunately I don't know how expensive the medication is. I hope poor Emma feels better soon.

I found this. http://www.addisondogs.com/FAQ/faqs.html I don't know what meds your vet will put her on but maybe this will give you an idea. I am glad she has a diagnosis and hopefully she will be feeling better soon.

That is a relief, Jenn . . . I was so afraid it was anti-freeze poisoning.

I've been doing the same thing, hoping and praying she didn't somehow get antifreeze poisoning.

    I'm glad you've got a diagnosis, and that it's a managable condition!

Addison's is a pretty easy thing to deal with. Some medication, control her diet/weight and you're pretty much good to go. Glad she's coming home!
