Water in Dry Food to Prevent Gas, Has Anyone Else Tried This?

Sophie is a gassy little thing and I read once on the web that if you add water to dry food, they eat it slower preventing gas. So far it works for her...I think.
Has anyone else tried it?

Sorry I haven't tried that aproach. I've always believed that the food wasn't agreeing with the dog when they have gas like that so I change foods till I find one that does agree. I stay away from foods with corn and corn gluten and go for rice potato or sweet potato as a filler. Corn doesn't digest in a dog's stomach and might be the cause of her gas problems.

Actually that is incorrect. Corn digests just as well as any other type of grain used in dog food. There are some dogs who are allergic or sensitive to corn, but that's an individual thing and applies to other ingredients just the same.

Unless corn is used as the main ingredient, as a cheap protein filler, there is nothing wrong with it being in a food.

They aren't.

That doesn't mean that they can't digest the nutrients in corn (or other grains) if they are properly prepared. The same goes for cats, who are obligate carnivores.

They are. I was just speaking with a woman today that feeds both of her dogs Nature's Recipe Vegetarian and they are thriving.
