A very large black stinkbug made it's way into the house last night while I was cooking dinner. I saw it running across the floor. Voodoo was following right behind it, eyes on the bug and nose to the ground. He was definately interested, but pretty unsure what to do with the invader. That gave me an idea. I would let Voodoo deal with the bug, so I wouldn't have to stop what I was doing to chase it down.
When the bug paused for a moment in its explorations, I said, "Voodoo! Get the bug!" The Chaos Demon stopped and looked at me. I said, "Go on, Voodoo! Get it!"
He looked back down at the bug, then back at me. You could see him thinking. I was watching and waiting for him to his doggish pounce-and-snap.
But instead, Voodoo reared up just a little on his back legs, and came down with his front legs stiff. He completely SQUASHED the bug with one of his front paws! :yikes: Then he lightly lifted his foot, and daintily shook the bug remains off of it.
I was shocked. I've never seen a dog deliberately squash a bug like that. Voodoo just gave me a confused look: "What's your problem? Haven't you ever stomped on a bug before?"
These cajun dogs confuse me.
