Please pray for Violet. I was at a friends house and my mom gave her a marrow bone that she somehow got her bottom jaw through and it got stuck. They tried getting it off with no luck and it began to swell and there was no way it was coming off so my parents rushed her to the vet (thank God it wasn't tomorrow or Sunday) and they're having to put her under and saw through the bone. They had to leave her there and we'll pick her up later. My poor srspuppeh.... I'm really upset and I wish I could be with her. I hope she'll be okay. I want to go get her so bad. The house is weird without her. And Chloe's really upset. When my parents were trying to get the bone off, Violet was crying and Chloe was trying to get between her and my dad and she was really upset by it. I cried when my mom told me and I'm snuggling Chloe right now. I wish I could have both of them here to snuggle. :(

Oh no, poor Violet :( keeping her in my thoughts.

Something similar happened to Maddy last year, but thankfully we managed to get it off quite quickly. It really scared me though.

Thank you guys so much, I can't help worrying about her even though she's in good hands. I want to just hug her. I didn't even see it but hearing my mom describe it made me cry.

The vet said she's never seen anything like it and took pictures so I'm going to ask her to send them to me (although I think she took them when she was already sedated so that might be upsetting...) so I can see. I'll post them here of they aren't too graphic.

We're just sitting here staring at the walls waiting to hear from the vet so we can go get her.

Poor girl!! ((((HUGS)))) I'm sure she'll be just fine as soon as they get the bone off. Might be some swelling for a little while and her jaw might be a bit scratched up if she was struggling to get it off, but probably no worse for the wear overall. I hope you hear something soon!

Oh no! Very scary. I hope the bone was relatively easy to get off once she was under. Poor girl. :(

(((Vibes)))

Poor Violet. My aunt had a dog that had this happen. They had to cut the bone off in his case as well. Scary :(

Prayers and vibes!

I can imagine how scary that would be! Plus Violet being upset and perhaps in a panic because she couldn't get it off.........poor baby!

Poor Violet! I've heard of this happening and I'm sure she'll be fine once the bone is off. Luckily she wasn't alone when it happened! I had a Belgian pup get his bottom jaw stuck on a Kong but luckily we were able to get it off ourselves.

She home and doing well! She's exhausted (currently asleep) and can hardly walk. The anesthesia is making her shake and making her pretty uncoordinated but she ran straight to us when they brought her out <3. I will post pictures later but my phone is about to die. Thank you all so much for the love. It means a lot, I was so worried.

Me too Jen. I'm so relieved that she's okay. When I was a kid, we use to give dogs bones to chew. In those days, we all thought anything but cooked chicken bones were okay. But my Dad would tell us not to give those bones with the hole in them. Is that what's called a marrow bone? He said they can get their teeth stuck in them. I'm glad she's okay. It must have been quite worrying.
