VERY confused... Lizard Help please! What kind of lizard is this?

I am very confused. One of my parents friends says they have a Komodo Dragon. We were thinking about getting it from them. They said it is 6-7 inches long and that is as big as it gets, but they say it is a Komodo Dragon. I KNOW those are NOT pets, those are wild animals and illegal to own. We were thinking Savannah Monitor but they get a couple feet long. Anyone have any idea what kind of lizard this is?? I am sooo confused!

Bearded Dragon sounds more like it.

Possibly a Chinese Water Dragon, but those do get very big- just not very fast sometimes.

I found out he was a Bearded Dragon but also found out they decided not to give him away
