Who would have guessed?

who would have guessed that we would be this far into the primaries without a clear winner in either party. I know Mccain has kind of pulled ahead but he still has some nagging issues with conservatives.

Let’s do the math….
McCain has 613 delegates + states I think he will win
Maryland 37
Ohio 85
613 + 37 + 85 = 735
Let’s say McCain takes Texas and Virginia…
735 + 137 + 63 = 935

McCain is still 256 delegates short, and this delegate count is assuming these states are winner take all, but some are not. Even if McCain picks up North Carolina, he will still be 187 votes shy.

There is no possible way in my mind for John McCain to pick up the 1,191 necessary delegates to secure the GOP nomination. Is my math right ?

I can't wait for Ron Paul's speech to the nation in St. Paul, MN. He will have a national platform to introduce himself to America. Ron Paul will use this national stage to launch the revolution into the stratosphere and take back the Republican Party. :D

Can you say "Revolution" ??????????

What really sucks is that for us late states, we no longer even get the chance to vote for who we want to vote for. This pisses me off as I'm not really into voting for the lesser evil.

In all reality, our votes don't mean a **** thing anymore.

This years vote will mean the life of America as the founders intended.
Romney now dropped out. Your choices are even more simple now.
We stand at an historic juncture in the journey of our nation. In this moment of reflection we must ask, as did Patrick Henry so long ago, "Is life so sweet, or peace so dear as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?"

Todays Ron Paul speech ..... http://catousa.messageforums.net/ron-paul-speech-2708_t1953.html

I despise Clinton. I hate Obama. And McCain isn't much better. So let's see, who would I love to vote for. Although McCain is the less of the 3 evils, I do NOT agree with him on many, many issues as he's just as liberal as the other 2 mentioned in this paragraph.

So I fail to see how your insistance that my vote will truly count when who I want to vote for is no longer in contention to run. Which IMO isn't fair since many states still haven't had their primaries. But let's face it, to some extent we no longer count.

Hell, as far as I know, Obama is the only one that will be campaigning here in Louisiana......and he's only catering to the N.O. 9th Ward crowd, so where does that leave the rest of us?

Listen .. you need to think for yourself. Forget about all the wonderful bandwagons.

If you believe in the US Constitution and want a President who will adore it, vote Ron Paul. He has nothing to lie about .. he's doing the exposing.

If you want a democracy (taking from people by force to give to another) vote for anyone else.

Ron Paul is the only true Republican ... that is a fact. Even McCain isn't a real Republican ... he is a democrat in disquise. The facts are all there, you just need to know american history as our founding fathers learned us. Good luck.

At this point, the people who have the most wisdom given the current situation facing this country are the Lakota Sioux.
For every action there is an exact and opposite reaction. All of us have much to learn from the courage of the Lakota people who live on reservations in the states we know as Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. On December 17, 2007, the Lakota Freedom Delegation notified the Department of State of the United States of America, that they have unilaterally withdrawn from all Treaties and Agreements entered into between the United States of America and Lakotah. :yikes: http://www.republicoflakotah.com/index.htm

This peaceful revolt has been a long time coming. 155 years, to be exact. The Lakotah say on their website that if the USA fails to negotiate to their satisfaction to discuss the numerous violations of treaties they signed that they'll begin putting liens on land inside their territory. :yikes:

On their website the Lakota are strongly encouraging all Americans to rebel against the illegal IRS and the illegal Federal Reserve via a General Strike to be held on April 15, 2008 which you can learn about via the video on the front page of their site which leads in turn to this page: www.myspace.com/greatamericanstrike Wear a white armband or braclet on your left.

The Lakota people have the courage of their convictions. In 1973 at Wounded Knee, they had a 71 day stand off against the US Government http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Indian_Movement

Just so you know. :D

I would love to vote for Ron Paul. Problem is, he doesn't stand a chance of getting the Republican nomination.....not even close. So then what? Sure I vote for who I prefer, but in doing so I allow the most hated & despised person to claim the presidency. Sorry, but no thanks. At this point, the only choice is to vote for the lesser of the evils.

Either way, you consciously vote for evil.
And what if you think that *all* the candidates are evil (which is my opinion)? You do the exact same thing.

I guess you can just abstain from voting---oh, no, wait. Then it's "Bye bye, democracy" because you aren't making use of your right to vote. Right?

Ever see the South Park episode on voting? It's the one where the school students were trying to vote for a new mascot. I think it sums up election problems very well.

Please explain why you think Ron Paul is evil ? I need to hear your logic.
I can maybe understand your excuse for the past 40+ years ... but not for 2008. And I'm only 34.

The only intent in Ron Paul I see.. is his "calling out" all democracy and an illegal government in regards to the US Constitution and up in thier face with a Revolution that at this point my friends you cannot stop. As a matter of fact it's that serious right now, any honest American whos uptodate knows it. Do you know Ron Paul is supported and funded by our Military, mostly? He recieved more indorsements, money, courage from our Military ... than all the other Republicans and Democrates combined by far. I'm not trying to scare you at all. I'm just giving you the facts and you can find these facts online if you look.

Now, I myself have to admit Ron Pauls messege is sooo powerful to the point of "too good to be true", but he's real, he's public with the messege and he's not afraid of the enemy. Do you know who funded our first Revolution of Victory ?
Well, today it's 100% grassroot Americans who are funding the second Revolution. And I'm glad to be a part of "nothing less than victory".

If your a real American who supports the US Constitution, Ron Paul is your only man. If you don't support our US Constitution you have always been our enemy. It's that simple this time around my friends.

America isn't a South Park joke. Don't be stupid naw unst.

If you think all of the candidates are evil, then run for office.

All right Hersh, since you asked :D....

Please explain why you think Ron Paul is evil ? I need to hear your logic.
Evil isn't really the right word. I just used "evil" because that's the word that Hersch used, and I wanted to use the same language to help make my point.

I don't think any of the candidates are evil. And I don't think that Ron Paul is any better than the rest of them. Different stance? Yes. But "better"? No.

I also think it's very extremist for MC to say "If you're a real American, vote for Ron Paul!" One candidate does NOT a nation make. Nor does one candidate embody all American ideals. Our constitution is so flexible and open to interpretation (as the forefathers intended), that every single candidate, no matter how different their views, probably believes themselves to do right by it.

By the same token, I also believe that one candidate will not bring about the "revolution". That's part of the reason why there is such a system of checks in balances in the constitution in the first place. Our founding fathers had their fill of giving one person too much power. So the constitution makes it very difficult, if not impossible, for one single person to generate tremendous, lasting change in our country.

If there is a "revolution", it must include Congress and the judicial system, too. And it will take years. Maybe even decades, if you consider that Supreme Court judges serve for life. That's why I'm usually more interested in congressional elections than presidential elections. I believe that change will begin with Congress, the most direct voice of the people. Not the president.

*gets off soapbox*

And one other thing....South Park has some very good social and political satire in it. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend it.
