Reggin,

I'm not going to post judgements on you or your family as some of the others have. That benefits NO ONE. I hope you have not left this thread or the forum because of it because I have a suggestion.

I know you said you will not accept money....but tough, put your pride away and do what's best for the dog. EVERYONE needs help at some point in their lives. Accept it.

Call your vet. Ask if they will accept direct donations via a credit card over the phone. That way it goes STRAIGHT to the vet, no chance for the money to be mishandled, no chance for anyone to think you are scamming them.

Then, when you have done that, post that you have done so and post your vets phone number so anyone wishing to donate can call them and verify it and make a donation.

Pride is a wonderful thing....but sometimes, you have to swallow it to benefit something else. Suck it up, take the help that's being offered, and once the dog is well, convince your mother to rehome it with someone who will care for it properly. If she won't, call animal control. It's cruel not to.

My moms dog has a serious problem. Today she noticed that her female dog is peeing blood. Not just pink urine either. Its bloody red. I think this has been a problem for at least a week, because thats when reggin started smelling and licking her behind when she would come in from going potty.
.

A sever infection, renal failure, cancer, and a number of issues can cause this.

Who cares..... at this point it is none of our business how anyone came up with any money. I just hope she was able to get the dog to the vet without risking Brandons job. AND I hope you hold your mother to paying you back.

Wow that was harsh since there's like lots of posts of people telling her to sell stuff ect... I was just curious  but yes you are right it doesn't matter now.

I didn't mean it to be harsh. I just mean who cares where the money came from as long as the dog has finally seen someone AND the mother plans on paying her back. I honestly don't know what I would be more furious about in this situation... the fact that my mother wasn't getting her dog care or the fact that she expected ME to cough up the money for her dog.

Has anyone seen Reggin today? Hoping for an update soon.

Shadow, that is such a great idea! Even if everyone who cared here just made a $1 donation, it would be a great help for this dog. Then after the dog is better, I completely agree on making sure the dog gets rehomed. It would be the right thing to do.

I hope everything is going well... Any update, Reggin?

I too, have been looking for an update. Usuallly no news is good news... but I can't help but think it could be bad news in this case. I am still hopeful the dog was seen at the vet and is being treated. I do wish reggin would update us and put our minds at ease with some good news.

UPDATE UPDATE!!!

My mothers dog was seen by the vet the other day. The vet worked a deal out with Brandon since he actually has credit. She did, in fact, have a UTI. She is currently on meds to clear it up. I am very happy that she has been saved. People kept telling me to just call animal control so they can put her to sleep. I couldn't bring myself to do that when I felt she had a fighting chance to survive this. I am not one to give up easily. She was playing with her toys and running around the house, and it bothered me that people wanted me to end her life. Yes, I am sure she was in pain with this UTI. I have had a severe one before and it hurt like he!!. I thank the lord that she got the help she needed and survived this.

With that said. I dont know why some members went as far as to attack my personal life when they know nothing. Accusations were made such as... I take money from the state, I wasn't taking ANY advice, I wasn't trying ANYTHING to help this dog, my mother is going to end up taking care of her grandchild, I live off of my mother just because we share a place together, everything I said sounds fishy, and I am simply letting this dog die right before my eyes and dont care. These accusations were pulled out of thin air from members out of malice. Thats how I feel about it. NONE of these things are true and they are very hurtful. One member actually came forward and simply asked if I did anything that members had suggested without first going on the attack and assuming I did nothing. Thats when I gladly listed everything I have done. None of the personal attacks got anywhere, but made it clear what some peoples true colors are, not to mention maturity levels.

One thing I noted is that people assume if someone falls upon hard times and ends up having no money in the bank, that they are lazy, no good people. I know a lot of people that would be offended by that. Brandon and I are just getting our lives together after having to move over 2,000 miles away with just our clothes. My moms mustang car got wrecked a few months before moving. I had to lend her over $2,000 in cash to get it fixed. She later had to sell it to purchase a more reliable vehicle, because things kept going out on the car. Is it so hard to NOT assume things without knowing the whole story or even part of it?

End of rant. I am done defending myself. Thanks to everyone that gave excellent advice about helping this dog. I appreciate it more than you know. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

Aw, thank you for getting her the help she needed. I know this wasn't your responsibility but she's now pain free because of you.
