Hello all,

I haven't been on this forum in years. But I have a question that maybe some of you might have some answers for.

I have an 11 1/2 yr old spayed (about 3 1/2- 4 yrs ago) Rough Collie girl who has been having some odd urinary issues that we can't seem to get any answers for.

Over the last 18 months or so she has been peeing in the house more and more. She has had numerous urinalysis' done, bloodwork, at one point when this first started she had a cysto done for a urine culture. Everything has come back normal. At most she has had a small bit of blood show up in the urinalysis, but nothing else. She has been on prion - it did nothing.

Basically she wears a doggie diaper pretty much all the time now because there is just no other option. I moved this past summer, back to Ohio (was in NC for a little over 9 years) and right before I moved she was in to the vet because she was peeing more than usual and they did bloodwork and ran a urine sample, nothing showed up. Well the last few days she seemed to be drinking and peeing more than normal (easy to notice increase of urination because the doggie diapers were filled with urine). Took her to the vet today, everything was basically normal, other than a very small amount of blood in the urine sample. Vet wanted to do an xray to see if MAYBE there was a stone (she's never been xrayed before) and there was no stones, everything looked good. The only thing he said was that her bladder seems larger than what would be expected.

So what the vet wants to do later this week is sedate her do anther cysto and urine culture on her but also (and I can't remember the name of this procedure) but he wants to put a catheter in her and basically fill her bladder with air and take an xray to see if he can see if anything is visibly wrong with her bladder.

I just don't know what to do. She is 11 1/2 but she is in good physical shape. She doesn't look or act her age. She is active, runs and plays hasn't ever had a stiff or sore day in her life, never misses a meal. She hasn't lost any weight, always been between 55-60lbs. Her only issue is this excessive peeing. It's just the strangest thing. I'm just thinking she's gonna be wearing the diapers forever.

Suggestions.... ideas???? Thanks in advance.
