That boy really knows how to keep everyone on their toes. I hope it passes and he's okay. Hugs for both of you.

Saw him today and he looks pretty good, minus the half inch holes in his skin.

His stitches look really good, but he's still draining a lot. Pretty much at this point we don't know how much longer he's going to have to stay since it depends on him.
The doctor said a lot of space was created from that fluid and the body doesnt like it so it tries to fill it back up.

So we'll see.

Not a whole lot new, he's slow but surely getting better. Tomorrow they should be putting him back under anesthesia to sew up the drain holes and they're also going to look for the drain to either see if somehow it still actually under his skin or take and X ray and see if it's stuck some where in his bowels. He still hasn't passed it through his stools, so they want to find out where it is.

thank you barb04

I forgot to mention they're sure all of this was caused by some self inflicted trauma, more than likely playing with Sadie. He's a pretty rambunctious puppy and will often jump over Sadie when playing, so quite possible he could have jumped and fell on his shoulder and caused this.

Guess who's home

He's still draining a lot so we have to keep a shirt on him and put pads to help absorb the blood and fluid. His skin has also gotten a bit of infection from the fluid constantly being on it so he's on two different antibiotics, a pain med, and needs to be bathed daily.

I'll try and get some pictures posted of him when we bathe him so you can see his stitches and everything.

Right now he's just glad to be home, and we're glad to have his pretty face around.

I'm so happy to hear he's home; this is great news. Sleeping is good so he will heal.

May be a little gross for some people

For anyone interested I gave him a bath today and washed his skin and around the wound area with Dial.

The scab areas are the infection, after i dried him off a good portion of those scabs came off, I guess from getting wet and rubbing from the towel.
