I really had no idea that these little birds could have so much personality. They have been with us now for over 3 months and we can't imagine the house without them. Most people I know who have parakeets or budgies(which ever is your preference) just leave them in their cage. Never handling them or doing much with them other then to give them a toy or food. That is not what we wanted.
These two now are out of the cage more then in during the day. We only feed them by hand, unless we will not be home for several hours then we put their food dish in the cage while we are gone. We have then trained now that all we have to do is lift our hand, palm up and they will fly over and land to eat or just hang out. They love to fly around the room and land on the different surfaces and check everything out. They are becoming very good at flying. They love to land on your head and play with hair, land on your hands while you type and play with the keys. If you leave the room they will fly around to each room looking for you. If they can't find you they will cheep loudly till you come back and then they will fly at your head and land on your shoulder chittering in your ears. They are great in the mornings. We can sleep in and they are quiet all night and morning till they see you feed the dogs. They they start their dance in front of their door cheeping for their morning flight and breakfast. When they are done with flying around and eating and playing they will, on their own fly back into their cage. Then I close it and get on with my morning to do list. When they are done napping they will dance and cheep at their door to be let out agian. And then it starts all over.
The two pictures are from after they had a bath. A few times a week I will put in a larger dish of warm water for them to bath in. They will jump in and out over and over stretching their wings and getting all wet and clean. Then when they are done they will groom each other till they are dry.

I have never seen an all white budgie before.
