Enzo and I are starting Rally classes next week. I'm super duper excited about it, but I know exactly nothing aboutl Rally aside from there are signs at stations and you do the signs. Other than that, zip, zilch, zero, nada. Id like to know a LITTLE bit before we get into this so that at least one of us has some idea of what we're doing.

We'll have a trainer that will be working with just us alone for an hour, so that will help of course, but I'm sure that you guys that do Rally have some internet based resources that I can learn from. I also have a library avaliable to me that is pretty good about ordering books and stuff too.

Okay, second question.

For those of you that do dock dogs, what is the best way to teach a dog to launch themselves? Enzo has no fear of the water, but she's afraid of leaping into it. She was going in at the steps for a toy (finally, we're making progress on the fetching front) but she was VERY hesitant to jump on the side of the pool. She would rather go in at the steps. She was leaping off the steps into the water, but the point she was leaping from was already in the water. Id like to start teaching her how its done now that we have a pool we can both go swimming in. There's also a diving board attached to the side. She was cool about getting on it, and she was cool about slipping into the water from the side, but very very not into jumping into the pool from the side.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

both the AKC and the APDT websites have all the rally signs and descriptions of them. most of them are fairly self-explanatory, so reading through them will be helpful.

i've learned a lot from watching youtube videos, actually.

Do you have an specific videos that are helpful? Or are you talking run throughs? I'll have to wait to youtube anything, I'm posting from my phone because the internet keeps getting knocked out by storms down here.
