Nikki we really haven't been following a formal RC method tbh. We initially started with jump bumps for striding help and some boxwork (on the A-frame only), used hoops several times, and now we're maintaining with random surprise treats hidden at the end of the board. I unfortunately don't have contact obstacles at home so all of our practice is restricted to class or lessons. I'm very lucky that her natural striding seems to support RCs well.
This is exactly what we did/are seeing with Sloan. I hope they hold true. I have a private with Daisy Peels next friday so hopefully she'll help us if we're not on the right path.

Adrianne, they've been fairly durable, though we did have some bobbles during two trials leading up to Z's AAD - she started leaping the contact - but they were corrected quickly by upping the rate of reinforcement with appropriately placed treats or toys. I think we revamped them in weekly classes in about 2 months iirc. Body language has also helped as well.

This past trial the RCs really seemed to click and she was speeding up and even crouching as she hit them (not creeping, just getting very low and she's not a BC lol), even with some lateral distance from me. :D
That sounds like it's working really well for you! It sounds like you've done well using bits and pieces of different methods.

Savvy has naturally strided the DW down contact at full speed just about every time he's done it in class recently (when he first started, he bounded the entire way...which was adorable). Running and not jumping. I'm very much leaning towards RCs with him, partially because I think he might kill himself dong 2o2o and partially because....well RCs are awesome!

Not. Possible.

Sekah, that was great!! Such a cute video and you both were really really impressive. I love his backward weaves.
Ha! He sure does love bouncing :)

And I agree Sekah's video was great!

I love all of your videos! Sekah, I REALLY want to teach Knox and Enzo the leg weaves, and Cohen has an incredible repertoire of tricks! She's adorable.

I have an even longer list of stuff now, thanks guys :p

I've been very bad and haven't been good about working on Art's tricks, but I think you've got me motivated to get back to that handstand. Linds, you're going to have to tell me how it goes (or post a video!) when you get to the point of walking forward!

I'm loving all the videos - I have so many ideas for what I want to do next!!

Here's one of the videos I put together recently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc6UiwUrDGw
Cohen is ADORABLE. I love all your tricks - especially there at the end where she was trying to handstand in your face. :p

Found the card reader on my computer.

It's ridiculous how fast she picked this up. We probably had the bare bones entire sequence in 5 or 6 sessions. Ahh the joys of a clicker savvy dog.
Nice!! Quinn is so freaking cute.

It's so neat watching all these videos! Sekah, yours was absolutely adorable. The music went really nicely with it, too. And mrose, Quinn did so great with all of those distractions! Very nice!

Loving all the videos! Quinn is sooo awesome! I'll have to take out the video and tape Jackson. I attempted backing up the stairs today and it was so funny - he seriously has NO idea those back legs of his are there, now I know what you're talking about lol. The furthest we got was having him have his front legs on one step, and the bottom legs on the above step. Then he would move the front legs to the same step as the back legs. lol. So we're going to keep working on that!

He's doing excellent with moonwalk! Picking up very fast what I want him to do and he was sooo excited to do it today. I think it's going to be one of his favorite tricks once we get it down. He does about three little slides backwards so far but I'd like to get him doing it for longer.

Good Lord people. I wish I were a more adept trainer lol. The fact that my dog knows how to do anything is a miracle. :D Trick training is always a disaster lol.

I've tried getting her to target with her back feet but she doesn't get it, she'll go backward but if she feels anything behind her she steps around it. Which is ridiculous to me cuz she normally has no problem stomping over anything.

Everyone has such awesome, entertaining dogs. I laughed when Quinn hip checked Poppy out of the way in the beginning of the video.

I definitely have some new ideas for tricks now. Pig actually accidentally went up the stairs backwards last week. I was trying to get her to target a step with her back feet and she just kept going up the steps. She kinda crabs her way up sideways, maybe I'll continue to work on it to get her straighter.

This is an old trick of hers, but I'm looking to get rid of the piano soon so I thought I might as well get a video of her using it first.

LOL - oh my goodness. Playing the piano is completely adorable.

I wanted to buy one of those kid mini ones at one point for Jackson but again, something I never got around to.

These are a majority of Jackson's tricks, from last April. There's been a few since then that aren't included. But most are there.

Here's the boys working on the paw pods... didn't get a lot of video because my video card was full of agility videos back from 2010 D=

Auggie with his ridiculous dancing. CANNOT STAND STILL OMG MUST HOP YES YES GO

Also I didn't realize Payton actually turned the camera LOL. But you still see what you need to see. I tried to move the pods and get a different angle and he was like WTF??? so I just moved myself too. =P

I'm intensely curious about those paw pods. What exactly are they for? They look really fun!!

Ok both of these skills are very much still in process, but I have a growing series of video for both, so figured I'd add them here. I also have them posted on fb and they've generated some great discussions!

Aeri - freeshaping "challenge" (trying to clean up my shaping technique as I've slipped into a lot of luring with her since she works differently than any of the others), goal is two paws on the flower pot.

Session 1: http://youtu.be/oudlyjk8r-E

Session 2: http://youtu.be/HcK9wo84UWo

Session 3: http://youtu.be/pHlytLOcgsY

All unedited, no training between sessions.

Snipe - shaping handstand skills, goal is a full handstand but for these videos I was working on just two rear feet targeting the platform.

Session 2: http://youtu.be/G4QdcBVTqfo

Session 3: http://youtu.be/wEinG-Hc0o8

Again, unedited and no training in between.
