Go Didgie!!

Zander is looking so good!!! He's such a handsome guy.

Oh wow! Zuma is amazing. She will get there - you are an awesome trainer and she is super smart.

Zinga's turn!!

So, I'm not going to lie, "Sit" is our weakest behavior. I hate sit. I teach it as a get into heel position and sit, default sits in the front annoy me. So that's why she keeps swinging her butt everywhere. Also, apparently the exercise ball is a ton of fun and must be messed with.. I must have put it there for her to bounce on. Anywho, sit up starts at like a minute in if you want to skip the hilarious puppy antics. I like her duration at this point, I need to throw a verbal on it.

Oh Zinga... "Look at all the stuff I can do I'm moving my butt around yay stand on hind legs!" I'm jealous of the duration LOL. That's what I get for luring, I suppose :p

omg my computer turns to mush when it comes to uploading videos. This took way longer than it needed to!

Anyway. Juno basically gets the trick we just need more than 0.5 second duration.

I apologise, but, in my opinion, you are mistaken. Let's discuss. Write to me in PM, we will communicate.

Yeah. I didn't want to use me as his support for this trick, but I'm finding it super hard to find something tall enough and sturdy enough that he can balance on! Big dog woes.
I was having that issue with Tipper and Murph and I just stopped rewarding if they reached for my hand. Even a second of uprightness without touching my hand was rewarded.

Zinga's turn!!

Okay I loved Zuma's (and your cat lol) but Zinga is HILARIOUS. And what I love love love about all you guys is the laughter when your dog starts shaping something else. It's so cool to see all these dogs that want to think and interact and DO STUFF.

Steve just wants to show off his fun variation ;)

(And can somebody tell me how to embed videos here?)
Under the video you click on Share and then the embed button. You can just copy the code straight over and post it here. :)

ETA: You can't get the embed code from the mobile site. It's REALLY annoying. You have to go into the desktop version (at the very bottom left corner of the web browser you press "Desktop"). Also, if you're using Chrome on your cell/tablet you won't be able to see the Embed button. You have to be using the built in Internet app.

Those that are luring, how do you plan on fading out the lure? I'm thinking I should've shaped this instead of luring..

What I'm planning on doing is having Kimma start offering it on their own in anticipation of the reward, then I will mark/reward that. With Pen I will probably start offering my hand without a treat in it and mark the behavior then give the treat from my other hand.

I'm starting over shaping with Payton, but with Auggie, I'm just faking him out. Pretending I have the cookie then he stands and I open my hand to show no cookie, then grab the cookie off the shelf and reward. Same way I fade any lure.
My hand position is going to turn into the hand signal for it.

When she was doing it piece of cake with a lure, I just stopped and waited to see if she would offer some sort of resemblance to the behavior.

I do this with a lot of things though. I hate shaping. I just lure, lure, lure a billion times and then stop and see what Juno decides to do with that info. Usually she makes the connection quickly and decides to do the thing that she has just been rewarded for a hundred times. Sometimes it is kind of like shaping because she might not do the whole behavior, it might just be a piece of it... but it's still easier for me because to some extent, she knows what she should do.

But, that's just me and my dog and our weird training methods lol.

This is what I'm probably going to do. I'll probably start doing it from farther away also - I want the gesture to be my cue.

I worked on this a little with Jack today (no video, since I was the only one home, and I'm not that coordinated lol). He has the main motions down, but wants to stand on his hind legs rather than just sit on them lol. We're working on building duration in the sitting-up position.

Sara, I love how Grover makes appearances in your training videos lol. He's just RIGHT THERE, waiting for his treats.
