I am going to have to go to mom's this weekend and get Peanut to do some of these tricks. Cats can play, right? lol

We missed week one. Here's Mia spinning a while back. I'm working on left for both of them. And a better video.

The first spin is what happens when she tries to dance and roll over at the same time lol.

I don't think we can add speed lol.

I would like summer to consistently do her jump and spin at the same time. Any ideas?

She's lucky she's kinda cute. ;) She's a laugh a minute all the time. Such a goof.

I'm calling left 'spin' and right 'dance'. Mia picked it up really easily today. I think it must be me but both my dogs do everything to the right a lot better than the left.

I just say 'spin' and then I say 'other way'. He's programmed to it to the right first and when I say 'other way' it means left, but I've never tried it backwards ... saying 'other way' first and 'spin' second. I'm going to work on this!

I love watching all your guys' videos! It's so neat to watch all the dogs learning.

This is going to be this weekend's project! I missed out on week one, but Dance already knew that trick anyway. She isn't very good at spin (my fault - didn't spend enough time on it) so this will be a good chance to actually teach it.

Crystal understands 'get your tail', instead of spin. She insists on grabbing her tail and flea biting it while she turns in circles, ahaha.

I'm hoping to participate next week, since she 'technically' knows spin. :p

You can still do it this week! There are almost always ways to make it flashier, change it up, and add distance, direction, speed etc.

Ok so Summer dances on her back legs (spins right). About half the time she will jump and spin with no legs on the ground. How would you go about separating these into 2 different tricks?

Because I have to do everything the hard way, I'm trying to shape Spin out of a head turn. The first session went pretty well. I have a reliable head turn, and he's just starting to offer to take a step in that direction. I probably won't be posting any of the early videos, though, because they're kind of long and boring.

That's what I did! Uploading Zinga's videos now.

I would pick one to start with.. get that on cue and then work the other one. Click only for whichever one you like, once that is reliably offered, name it.

This! I can honestly say there is maybe one or two behaviors of Zuma's that I think are perfect. Almost all can be improved on in some way, or I can elaborate on it to make a new trick.

So I had previously shaped Zinga's right spin from a head toss. However, I never put it on cue and never worked it since then. So our first session was like shaping it all over again, but on fast forward. Very cool to watch if you are planning on free shaping your spin. I add the cue in at the end of the first video. I work it a bit more off camera, just adding the cue in, the second video is putting other cues with the spin cue to help her differentiate her verbals.

Shaping the spin:
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XPm7OFWLg-Y?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XPm7OFWLg-Y?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Testing the cue:
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/F_3CvF_K4nk?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/F_3CvF_K4nk?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Nooo! Don't do it! She'll make Boone look bad! :p
Well, it's really re-shaping... we had shaped it once before but never practiced it again. So she picks it up pretty darn fast but the video shows the whole route I took shaping. And ya right, we could never make Boone look bad!!
