This is Art's perch work. He was working on this before and now he's really good at staying while david lifts him up and moves him around.

Oh. My. God. LOOK AT HIM. :D

HAHA That's so awesome, I love how he's carefully placed his feet so he's not on you at all! ^_^
Right? Yay for not getting squished when he falls!

Very rudimentary, but he's getting it!
He looks nice and chill up there!

Um okay, I want to teach Georgie to perch on my hand now. But I'm pretty sure she's too big LOL. That's awesome. Talon looks great too!

I went looking for a balance disc at Wal-Mart because their website said they had them... they did not, but they DID have a peanut. So I bought it. All four dogs have been on it now, Georgie and P are the best at it, but Augs is a little bit out of game shape, and of course Pepper I had to work just to convince her to even get all four paws up on it.
Question - when you start doing this sort of FitPaws stuff, how long do you do it each day? The dogs can't really tell me "I'm sore, I don't wanna" and I know for a fact the boys will keep doing it even if it hurt. I don't want to overdo it...

And yeah, Art has always been the king of balancing games. lol

Do it!! I think it *might* be doable if you us one hand for two feet and the other two paws on the other hand? lol I'd love to see a picture of that though ;)

I was working on this with Skye too tonight but she knocked over the chair and scared herself, so that was the end of that.

Puppy is good though?

So many awesome posts! I looove Art's hand stall/perch. Gotta keep that one in mind for Mega... though my wrists are weak.

Here's a video of Cohen's foot stall -> beg. It used to take her a long time to find her balance (and confidence) to pop up into a beg, but now she's doing it pretty quickly and often without prompting. It's really hard work for her though. It tires her right out.

On FB we were talking about how stalls get easier as you get stronger and your dog gets more proficient. It's amazing how much easier it can get. Cohen feels almost feather light when landing now.

Zuma took forever when she was first learning to sit pretty in the footstall. I can still only get a few reps out of her before she quits and I had to move it earlier in my disc routine so that she wasn't as tired when she did it. Core strength workout for the win!

Great work with Auggie. :3

Can someone post a video of a shoulder stall? I'd like to see one in action.

... I guess I could just youtube it, but you guys are more interesting.
Yachi Hirai has one in his disc dog routine, I believe it's a sit pretty shoulder stall.

I've thought about the hand perching for the girls. I know Summer could do it because I already balance her in my hands (plural, my hands are small) all the time. It's just not on cue.

Spider-Web Progress! First time on my feet. Used the tub to give him a boost as he's not confident enough to jump from the floor yet.

(I've now posted two vids on chaz in less than 24 hours...yeesh)

I don't know if this is a shoulder stall but I went looking and found this:

Just before 1 minute in.
Screw a dog catch.
I want THAT.
THAT is how I want to end Payton's agility runs. With my dog nearly taking my head off, yes. THAT.

ETA: OMG THE OPENING TO THIS ONE. ONE OF YOU NEEDS TO DO THIS.

AND a pivot on the footstall later on?
I just asked Payton is he wants to do this stuff. He licked my toe in response. I think that's a yes.

Okay, I wasn't going to do this until I saw how incredibly cool everyone's dogs are. Now I'm jealous. I'm not sure I'll get Gusto actually perching on ME, because I do value my life, but we had a good time this evening playing with a bucket, and given the incredibly cold weather in store this week...well, who knows where it will go.

He had a wee bit of trouble shaping it to begin with; he is quite convinced that only his back feet are supposed to go on things! He actually finally got it by putting his back feet on, and then adding his front feet, rather than the other way.

Forgot to turn the flash off...

His sit pretty (the command is actually perch!) was easy for him once he figured out how to get up.

I'm really tempted to drag my rocking horse in from the garage, but I'm not sure if Gusto is THAT cool.

All of your dogs are adorable. Pretty much one of my favourite Tricks of the Week.

Webby is really interesting to watch on film since I had sort of a different impression of him previously. More stoic, I think.

Gusto is made of muscle and cutes.

Gusto looks adorable. And he definitely want to try the rocking horse :p

He tends to look stern in photos because of his facial markings and because he doesn't "smile" often but he's really not. He takes himself very seriously, but he's not stoic haha.

Well I just love Webster even more now. He's adorable.

Here's all my crew on the peanut tonight. Auggie is forever my rockstar and able to offer a bit of sit pretty. I ran out of room on my video card to show it, but Payton thinks instead of "pretty" I'm giving him the hand signal for "pivot" and he's trying to pivot on the peanut which is hysterical and does not work at all. Also I have to hold Pepper and help steady her, poor girly who can't do anything.

Apparently I have done a terrible job of accurately conveying my dog's personality lol.

Also, Rottweiler perching is super.

This is seriously the cutest ToTW.

Art is adorable, Talon is rocking it.

Cohen just is awesome. No other words.

Gusto is OMG can I have him please?!???! Yes to the rocking horse. Please.

I love Webby - he is just so cute. And cat-like :p

Beanie - That's kind of like my shoulder stall. Kimma I think forgot it (haven't worked on it in months and months), so I'm going to have to rework it a bit. I love all of your guys. I like how the two boys try to get on at the same time :p

YAY to big dogs Squash and Kaia!!!
