YAY Kili!!!

And OMG that picture will make her feel better, I'm sure, BB. Gusto is just too cute.

GO ONYX! I took your lead and tried the paper towel roll and it's going MUCH better wit Jari, too! Thanks for that idea :D

Skittledoo - I love how your guys seem to just love training :D

We continue to hammer away at the TotWs. Today I grabbed a short video of hug. We're working on her catching the toy on her own now.

I was impressed with the second repetition in the video - I think she knew that she wouldn't be able to hug the toy from the position she caught it so he gingerly put it down, regripped and picked it back up again to hug.

She's so damned conscientious about it though. You'd almost think I was torturing her. :)

Love the updates :)

We still haven't mastered this but am still working on it. I had to step back and teach him to sit up first because he was flailing and lacking balance.

Just started working on her catching it with her feet when I throw it to her. She figured out the idea pretty quick, but it's not consistent yet. Here are some of her successes!

I just read this entire thread and watched all the videos. Not even gonna lie.

So much for having a productive day at work

Gosh, this forum has the most adorable dogs ever. I'm serious! I really want to try this with Harleigh now, though I'm not sure if she will catch on. Bless her heart, she just sometimes isn't the brightest one out there :p

She does have a pretty good beg though, so maybe that will help her out :lol-sign:

I know I'm super late to the party, but I just saw this post today and I really wanted to try it with Harleigh! She actually caught on quite well, I think so anyways.

And keeping the trend going I am in my pajamas :D

Our first attempt... she does 2 legs with 1 minute remaining (I think). The treats were on the piano, which is why I kept walking away haha

Second attempt tonight, this one is much shorter (I promise!)

Woohoo Go Harleigh! That's so awesome. I need to get on this trick, maybe I'll attempt tomorrow. :)
Thanks!

We did a short third session this morning. I think she likes this trick a lot! (But that also could be because she gets food:rofl1:)

I just think it's going to be so adorable when she gets it down 100%!

And yes you do! Jackson would look so adorable doing this trick :D

Wow, nice start with Harleigh! This is such a cute trick - of all the things I've taught Gusto, this is the one that people fall apart over. It was well worth the challenge of training it.

I just may have to try this again, it's just way too cute!

So I tried to do this trick again and I'm glad to say Talon will now hold and do a one legged "hug" to a stuffed lion. ^_^ He's not strong enough to sit pretty for too long, so I'm going with a one legged hug and than a two legged one when he is stronger. So, yay! :D

Question: is "sit pretty" a pre-req for this, or can it be used to help teach sit pretty? I'm not sure Jaeger's core is strong enough to hold himself up, since he doesn't know sit pretty yet (I mistakenly thought it's really difficult for big dogs so i never tried it).

Ladies and gents, we have a catch! This trick is so many kinds of adorable to me. It's not been easy, but it's been worth it.
