I really am trying to get myself motivated to do more clicker/ dog-training. I've been in an on/off slump since December... just training random nonsense and practicing stuff they know

Anyways... to help keep me motivated I started a blog. If anyone wants to join in, that'd be awesome! If not... well... just do it. LOL

We used to a weekly or biweekly trick challenge on Chaz...dunno what happened to it. I'll have a look and maybe we'll have to learn a few :)

It's in my siggie... but here it is again
101+ Dog Trick Challenge

All the trick contests usually die off after the first week. I know I started the original (on here) a year or so ago but I guess people get bored.. idk.

First trick is up on blog.. figured we'd start with an easy one!

Could we post photos? I can't post videos... and sometimes I can't see them either, so, for tricks like a play bow, maybe someone could post how they went about teaching it? Pretty please?

Doesn't have to be in the shot.... just in general I know people that rather hand-signals vs spoken ones. Mostly just saying you don't have to do it X way for the challenge :)

My guys respond to the hand signal mostly, but for a few commands like Sit, Come and Down they do great with verbal. But I tend to use both at the same time anyway.

For example, when I did reeds, I had already started giving him the hand signal and then said the word a second later, so the timing looks off, but you can't see the hand signal.

For harder tricks like "spin" or "bow" this might matter, cause with Sadie I don't tell her spin often, just give her the signal, so it would look like I didn't do anything.

Make sense?

Funfun!!! :D

Me and Fozzie started up rally again today, and "down" is something we have to work on... ugh he has the slowest, laziest down! This will help motivate me to practice, lest I be embarassed on the intuhnetz. I'll try to get a video tomorrow.
