She really should be reported to the authorities. Maybe a visit from the police would slow her down. I doubt they'd do anything, but it's worth a try. Yes, that dog needs to get out asap and into a foster home at least. Sheesh! Is there any way someone can get him to Spokane? I could keep him here for a while until the transport is all figured out. Of course, if that takes too long, there's no telling. I might have to hide him away from you and keep him if I fall in love. LOL! No...I really can't have another dog for more than a couple weeks.

The hell of it is...I was just in Seattle for almost 2 months and just came home on Tuesday. If the timing had been better, I could have nabbed him from Monroe or even south of Seattle...wherever he is and could have brought him home here, just to keep him safe temporarily. :(

I can get him to Chehalis this weekend..don't know how close that is to Spokane though.. Lorraine is there any way you can make it to that show? Then maybe find a way to get him to Spokane.

Chehalis is south of Seattle....actually a little south of Olympia. Spokane is clear across the Cascades and all the way across the desert to the extreme east border (almost) of Washington and quite north. It's a long way...probably about 350 miles or so. From Chehalis, one would best go north on 1-5 toward Bellevue where you'd pick up 405, then I-90 and over the pass toward Ellensburg, then Moses Lake, and continue east to Spokane.

Honestly, it sounds like he'd be better off in a shelter. It sucks, but if you can find a no kill place or a rescue or something willing to take him in, it's a better option than living in a home with someone who wants to kill him.

There isn't time to arrange a way to get him to NY, and I'm not sure that we have any other members in Seattle.

Like I said, it sucks that I was just in Seattle, but now I'm back home in Idaho. If it had happened when I was there, I could have picked him up and taken him to my house which is about 2 hours east of Spokane. Look at a map and you'll see what I mean about my coming all the way back from Idaho to Seattle. (or Chehalis) LOL. It's a long haul and I can't come back to Seattle right now.

I agree that there isn't time to mess around. That dog is likely to be killed and it could happen at any moment. He needs to get out immediately into a neighbor's care, another family member, a shelter or rescue..something until something better can be worked out. Isn't there anyone around who can keep him for just a little bit while something is better worked out?

Don't give up yet Pam. Where there's a will, there's almost always a way. What about the trucker guys who transport dogs? There are always tons of trucks going across Wa on I-90. Many are going all the way to the east coast.

Pam. I looked up that Operation Roger...trucker/animal lovers who transport needy pets. They need 3-7 days advanced notice and then some to do this. Here's their website:

Welcome to Operation Roger... Truckers Pet Transport

This is a definite possibility for a solution. However, in the meantime, I think if Smexy could get that dog out of there and in safe hands, (neighbors, family, a temporary thing in a shelter or vet's?) just temporarily, that would put all our minds at ease. Is this something that's doable you guys?

Ok
I need to know whether Breawna will be able to get the dog out and, somewhere, get it to a vet for a health certificate and shots (if he needs shots. Is he up to date with proof?), get the things necessary for transport (crate, harness, collar, leash), and get him to a place for pickup if I contact the above resource

Can you just take Leo out and keep him in your home until this is underway. I would hate to hear that something happened to him.

I'm going to email Ryan, the pet transporter that brought Cleo. But I need to know where he would need to pick up and deliver first.

Don't rule out the truckers that transport. They don't charge anything.
Operation Roger... Truckers Pet Transport I believe is the site, Boemy sent me the cat via this and it worked out very well, they were very nice people as well!

I see someone posted the link already. I hope he can get out safely.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this thread, last time I looked I thought he was getting a flight out.

Bre, my BIL is coming to visit on Wednesday and he's flying into Sea-Tac. He'll be here until the 8th. I will talk to Robert and see what the deal is with that. Depending on what they are scheduling I can probably get away on the morning of the show to either meet you in Chehalis, or somewhere off I-5 on your way down. Exit 111 (the Walmart/Cabelas exit) is very close to my house. What time are you going to be driving down on Saturday? I have no problem meeting you at 6 am or something, lol. That would actually work out best if my BIL wants to go do something later in the day.

I'm not sure how long I can keep him here for. I mean, he will be safe here and if it ends up longer than we plan then Robert will have to put up and shut up, lol. If someone can pay for his health certificate and things I can bring him to a vet (there is a good one only 2 miles from my house).

Is he okay flying solo? Or does he need an escort? I can't escort him but if he flew solo I could send him on his way out of Sea Tac. Or if I just need to hold on to him until trucker transporters can get their hands on him that works too.

It would be most helpful to me if we have some kind of time frame on how long he'd be staying. If he has a date he's leaving our place, Robert won't freak and think Leo is staying (he gets really anxious, poor guy ;)).

Just talked to Robert.

He says he is fine with Leo staying here. He prefers arrangements for transport to be made within a week of Leo's arrival, but he's not about to throw him out on the street or anything.

I'm looking through our dog stuff loot (yay garage sales, lol).

We should have a leash to send him with. I'm seeing several small dog harnesses and collars. Hopefully something will fit him. We've got smaller sized crates that I use for my poultry, if Pam wants to mail it back when gets there I'd be happy to loan it if it turns out to be the right size for him to fly or be driven in.

WHOOT! Hey, tell him about Cleo's stay with me :rofl1: He should be grateful it's a Leo, not a Cleo (although I am so glad I got to have Cleo for a week) ;)

I told his about the Cleo fiasco. Now he says we're not allowed to foster any filas. :rofl1: He didn't say anything about keeping one though....
