Did you go visit a breeder? If so, what did you think of this breed? I am researching other breeds and this is one of possibly four that are on my list.

I have not met with their dogs yet, still planning on doing so eventually, but the Tornjaks is not something that I am interested in. From talking with the breeder they are quite a soft breed, which is not a characteristic I really like in my dogs.

But they are very protective and affectionate with their owners.

The Tornjak is an old breed of livestock protection dog. This breed originates from Bosnia and Herzegovina. This large dog breed is noted for being an outstanding worker...a dependable protector of the flock. But in recent years, Tornjaks have evolved into home companions. Inherently suspicious of strangers and noted for its fierce nature, these dogs are now protecting homes and the human family. Owners have attested to the stable temperament of this breed. Tornjaks are friendly, affectionate and form strong bonds with the family.
