mr darcy was! toilet trained up untill this week, he has now decided that the kitchen will do!!!

i started off with puppy pads on the floor at the back door and he quickly understood to go out the door with the girls when they went. he never went inside from 7 weeks to now(12 weeks)

nothing i do is working, i can put him out for 15 mins and again after 10 mins but he seems to be holding it in untill he comes back in!
he is also peeing in the bed which isnt good as holly and bo are in there too.
im washing bedding 4/5 times a day and i have tried taking him out on the lead and waiting till he does a pee, thing is even if he has 2 or 3 outside he comes stright back in and pees in the kitchen.
i have used a spray which is supposed to stop him and i have a pee stick outside which is supposed to have a smell that makes them pee near it.
serge is getting annoyed as the pee (if not seen right away) is going under the units in the kitchen and im down on my knees with disinfectant 3 times a day

one thing my mom noticed in small toilet training children. (and good grief did she train a lot of them) .and i have found it true in puppies as well is once u think u have it all taken care of, there is a bit of relapse. Doesn't last long, but it has happened too often to be just a chance. I hope this will be true in your case. 12 weeks isn't very old, so i imagine that is it. Fight the good fight and i am sure u will win.

Since he's peeing in the bed I wonder if there's a bit of precocious marking going on too. It's awfully early at three months, but stranger things have happened.

i went out and bought a new bed today, it has a fleece cover which is waterproof under neath, it unziups for washing so im handling that side of it. he is getting better though. only a couple of accidents at night which is normal

You know you are a mom when your dog is toilet trained instead of housebroken.

We're strict, we have new area rugs, so our potty training was serious business. (I'm so glad someone else calls it potty training! lol) I would gate off the kitchen for a short time, off limits! Use a small crate or small play pen immediately upon coming inside for an hour. Then back outside and wait for as long as it takes. You may have to sit outside for 30 minutes. I don't know how large Mr. Darcy is, but try carrying him inside & outside to & from the crate/small play pen. There is less temptation to empty his bladder on a rug on his way out. (Let's hope he doesn't empty on you!!)

(I can't focus to write because the cute lab in the water with the stick... ^ up there is way too distracting )

Back to it... Personally, set backs at our house are a chance to start over. We had set backs on everything.

Is Mr. Darcy able to hold it overnight?

make shore he can get in out side when ever he needs to and punish him when he does pee inside make, this might have something to do with territory and you should get him checked out to make sure he doent have a blader problem, a good way to help him learn to pee out side is to play with him out side until he dicides to go to the tolit and then praz him to the max.
