A breed like that uses the fur to protect from the Sun.
Removing it can make him MORE hot if stuck in the sun for long periods.

Can you get me a baby pool? My dogs cool off in it all summer.

you could shave him down but if he never was shaved it may be a shock to his system and if you choose todo that i would not take him that close to skin

OK - this thread is from April so I'm not sure why it has gained attention now and thanks for the replies but I'M NOT SHAVING HIM! LOL!

I know it's an older thread, and you've decided not to shave him, but I thought I'd throw a couple suggestions out there for you to help Charlie beat the summer heat...
