I woke up this morning with a sore throat and stuffy nose. Oh the joy of a cold  . Even the bigger joy of 23 demanding dogs who want to work not matter how sick you feel. its like their going "we're not sick so it doesent matter that your sick lets run!!!" lol thats my babies. So I forced my self to get into my equipment and getting the dogs in theirs and working them today. Im feeling a bit better this evening but im pretty worn out and tired and already in my pajama's lol. I'll probley go to bed early tonight with some cold medicine so im good for tomarow. Blah does anyone else feel the same way or have a cold right now? I just love it

You poor thing. I did kennel work 365 days a year..summer hot with biting flies and the occasional wasp sting or two....winter when the buckets are full of ice and have to be carried in and put around the wood fire to thaw..carrying the water back out (the doc said my muscles were so dense they show up on the xray. I do know exactly what that is like when you have a fever and feel like ^*&$^#$^. I hope you feel much better tomorrow...hot bath...hot toddy? Baby yourself.

Winter before last was horrible here. Cold, so, so cold and damp. Charley and I kept battling colds and the flu. Then the Massey-Ferguson went down. The cows still had to be fed, so we had to do it with muscle instead of a tractor. That meant pushing 800 or so pound bales of hay, sometimes off the top of a stack of three, out of the barn and down into the field, then rolling the hay ricks over to the bales and dropping them around the bales. And the cattle would mob us while we were trying to get the hay out to them, sometimes stopping the bale after we'd finally got it moving steadily.

So, yes, I feel for your misery!

Get some ginger tea and ginger capsules and take them throughout the day. They'll get rid of that congestion without giving you that air-head feeling the cold remedies do. It also seems to shorten the duration of the cold.

Pushing 800 pound bales of hay!!!!!!!!! I still feel sick from the flu, but Renee, you just tired me out completely just thinking of doing that.

Pushing the bales wasn't the worst part: the worst part was feet getting stuck in that mud and trying to pull yourself out without leaving a boot behind or overbalancing and falling down in it.

I don't EVER want to have to do that again . . .
